Does Booth ask the recommenders a list of questions or simply a letter? If it's a question list, where can I find it?

Thanks A LOT!

These are the instructions:

Please provide a written letter of recommendation. Be sure to include how the applicant ranks comparative to his/her peer group. Other items to
consider are the applicant's:
 most salient strengths
 areas of development, including efforts the applicant has taken to show improvement
 team skills and leadership ability
 initiative, curiosity and motivation
 other matters which you feel we should know about the applicant

If you guys get the call on the 14th, how will you react on the phone? What's appropriate, what's not? I want to be prepared in case I do get that call.

As long as you don't tell them to get lost because you were accepted at HBS, you're fine.

Man I've replayed that call over and over in my head for the past three weeks. I've also got a bottle of liquor marked specifically for celebration/depression, depending on whether or not I get the call.

There have been rare cases where people were accepted without the call. There's also an option of waitlist. So save the bottle for the 15th. Good luck to us all!

I'm going to suggest "I'm going to take my talents to Windy City and join Chicago Booth."

Haha! This reminds me of something a friend just told me yesterday to cheer me up when I was whining about how competitive these business schools are. He said, 'listen, the reason why you're feeling like this is because you're looking at it the wrong way. You've applied to four schools so that means each school has 25% chance of getting you as a student. In fact... you should've applied to a few more! That way you'd be making it more competitive for them!' :)

Think positive, people!

All's well that ends well.

Haha hilarious. Are you then going to underperform despite having enormous talent and equally talented classmates? I guess you'll still be making large sums of money...

Hi,

I am a R1 applicant for Kellogg and Sloan. Considering Booth for R2 just incase I don't get into my R1 schools.

How would one compare Booth to Kellogg and Sloan. My concern is that the Booth brand is not well recognized as compared to Sloan and Kellogg, esp since I am not a finance person.

Post MBA plans: Entrepreneurship in tech or Consulting

Any suggestions / comments will help me select my R2 schools! Thanks.
R1 schools :HBS, Stan, Kellogg, Wharton, Sloan

What should be the typical recommendation length for Booth? My supervisor informed me that his recommendation might run into 3 pages ! Is that alright? Or should i ask him to curb on the examples etc.

Do the reverse - tell him to keep all the examples and curb the fluff and introductory/summary sentences. :)

Although Booth does not have a word limit on the recommendation letter 3 pages is definitely way too long. You should ask him to cut it to 2 pages max.
