I think I went slightly shorter than 30 mins (in person), but have a friend who did it (via Skype, different interviewer) and went a lot longer. Not sure whether it means anything.

I think I went slightly shorter than 30 mins (in person), but have a friend who did it (via Skype, different interviewer) and went a lot longer. Not sure whether it means anything.

They say 30 minutes but I've heard of many that were 45 minutes to close to an hour. Interviewers typically have a half-hour cushion before the next person when the interviews are stacked up. Mine was 45 minutes (in person on campus). "Do you have any questions for me" came at about 30 minutes, so the total time was purely a result of my follow-up questions and the interviewer talking a lot.

If you can build rapport with the interviewer and leverage it with additional meaningful content at the "end" of the interview then I would do so. Otherwise, I wouldn't force the interview to drag on for no good reason and make it painful for the interviewer.

Everyone(or at least a lot of ppl on this board have reported) gets an e-mail saying their app is complete. What I want to know is does everyone a week or two after their interview get an e-mail from a student thanking them for visiting and talking about what they are doing at Tepper etc. . .
