For anyone that applied R1 or R2 - what's the time deadline for the application? Is it 5PM or Midnight? I'm stressing trying to get everything completed and not sure if I'll have the evening or not to work on it. HELP??

Round 3 MBA Application Deadline Tepper MBA Applications intended for the Round 3 deadline must submit their applications no later than midnight this date to be considered for this round of admissions. This is the final application deadline for International applicants applying to the Full-time MBA program. Notifications of decisions will be sent out by April 29, 2011.

The suspense was not killing me until you mentioned my letter will have animations. I just can't imagine what I am aspiring to see. Is it the scene from lady and the tramp where the scotty dog (that looks like Tartan) sings bony bony bone yard? Because every time I see the CMU mascot I think of that.

Does anyone know what the specific subject lines for the Admit/deny/waitlist email's are?

As in, is the subject line the same for all ( ie 'a decision has been posted), or can we tell just by the subject line if we got admitted or not?

A R1 admit here.

Tepper has followed up us very well. The school should SERIOUSLY consider promoting its tight-knit community a bit more. For example, in Japan R1 admits are invited for alum receptions. On the admitted students' facebook (exactly 150 have registered by today), I can see that these invitations have been sent not only to admits in Japan but also to U.S. admits, as similar receptions are held in various U.S. locations (Chicago, NYC etc.)

The reception in Japan is on March 10th, will update you guys afterwards.

Right after the admission, I was also contacted by the current Japanese students at Tepper. They offered me opportunities to further learn about the program.

I have received great insider perspectives that I had not been able to find anywhere else. I translated these into English, to share them with interested Clubbers as well (with my correspondent's approval).

These responses are detailed, so I attach them as a word document. Hope you find it useful.

You've done great, congrats!

Many top U.S. schools are general management-oriented. The most distinguishing gets done by other factors such as the reputation, and the location. Tepper is one of the very few schools that truly specializes in an area (quantitative approach), and follows this up by selecting almost 50 % of the students with engineering/technology background.

This may be a plus or a turn-off, depending what you want. It was easy for me, because I have exclusively worked in the technology and will pursue a career in that area post-MBA as well.

I removed my post because it kind of came off wrong. Bottom line is Tepper is a great school and I hope I don't have to make a tough decision. I congratulate you on your admits so far. It sounds like you're set on Tepper which is great. I am interested in consulting and their Consulting Club members really took the time to meet with me and go over what can and can't be done. Seems like the Japanese students really are helping you which is really great. I personally like the area too. Best of luck wherever you end up and who knows I might just see you at Tepper.
