Completely believe with shaselai.

Especially people with good GMAT scores, keep your fingers crossed and don't give up just yet if you haven't got an invite.
I have a hunch that Tepper is slightly biased towards people with good GMAT scores this time and I know 2-3 people, including myself who fall in that bracket and got early interview calls.

Best of luck !

Hi,
My interview date has been set. Would any of you be able to share your experience of interview with Tepper? Does the interviewer have your full application package? What kind of questions they ask?

Thanks!

My interview was by request before the deadline, but my interviewer mentioned that they are blind to keep it objective.

Great to know. Thanks.

Would you be able to share some of the questions or question areas you encountered during your interview?

Thanks & good luck to us both!

^^^Mines not blind, buts its a unique scenario. so I self intiated through Tepper but before they could get back to me I was Invited!

I met a CMU adcom at a MBA fair and spilled my guts, this person knows everything about me, and guess who my interview was set up with?

Yup, I'm not sure if said person remembers me but we did email each other back and forth about certain questions I had.
Either way I think of it as a positive. Perhaps X remembers me and wants to get to the bottom of my application.
BTW I know Tepper may be blind but I like that Ad coms interview candidates. Tepper is a very unique and close knit group, they want to make sure you will fit in. Its fast climbing the top of my list partially due to a few potential dings (no int) and because I'm researching the school much more now that i have the invite and I like what i see/hear.

Technically, I think they generally do blind interviews based on what the interviewer said.

As far as content, it's the same as any other MBA interview, you just need to be able to explain:
Your story, both personal and professional.
Leadership and Teamwork.
Walk me through your resume.
Why MBA/Why Now.

It doesn't really matter which school you're applying too. All I can say is I had no curve-balls.

Thanks to these who shared your interview experiences. Very helpful. Mine will be during next week on the phone.

To those of you who have visited Pittsburgh, would you be able to tell me something about the place? As an international applicant, I am familiar with only metropolitan cities in the U.S. I've visited NY, San Francisco, Boston (thought it was very European), and Miami for vacations. Never been in PA.

I read that Pittsburgh is "industrial", which immediately invoked the image of Manchester in UK...

Hey guys there is a chat going on right now at teppers website with adcoms someone asked if interviews were blind and this was the response:

Tepper Masters Admissions: Some interviewers will read the application before, some will not. It is an individual choice, so it depends. However, you may ask the interviewer before the interview if they have read your app or not.

Double spaced means add an equally spaced blank line between each line of text; however you accomplish that in your word processor. In MS word, it's in the edit paragraph. It would look like this:
_______
Blah blah

Tepper is a nice place to grow flowers.
_______

The blank space is in between the two lines.

If you want a US perspective on Pittsburgh, I'll give you my limited 2 cents (I'm live in a big city on the Atlantic ocean).

It's live-able and cost effective. No $2000/month rent for a studio there that I know of. I would estimate that a Pittsburgh minute is about 10 NY minutes, but that's not saying much.
After the decline of the steel industry, it's been trying to recover and some attractive companies have responded by establishing facilities given the proximity to major technology institutions. The job prospects are good in that field. Not so much if your a banker.

Stating the obvious: Check Pittsburgh wikipedia

It's a city but not a big one, feels small compared to what you've seen. There's no subway, a few tall buildings, but nice little neighborhoods with the essentials and places to hang out.

Petervella,

Thanks for the briefing of Pittsburgh! Good to know that living cost is not too high. I have a tech background and want to find a job in the U.S. post-MBA. Pittsburgh sounds a good fit for this purpose.

Huh, quite a question, eh? You sound like you are assuming the majority who apply to Tepper have 700+ GMAT! ;)

Thanks for the response. I had submitted my application on Oct25th. The only communication I had received was that 'Thank You for your application' mail. Is Tepper sending out a 'Application Complete' mail as well? In the 'Thank You' mail they had mentioned that they will take about 10-14 working days to pass our App to the AdCom.
