^^^Yeah my I was shocked when he told me he got letter from other schools. I applied EA to Duke, on the signature page it says they can give out my name to other schools.

I was thinking EA for UNC, but didn't want to sell my self too short and it came down to DukeEA and TuckEA....went with Duke cause of fit.

well it's done.. sent email to change to R2... dont want to risk it....

^^^ yea, i think thats the right call. Ethics aside, that would suck if you got into Yale and had to say no b/c of a binding commitment to UNC.

Disclaimer: No disrespect to UNC I just know Sha wants to go to Yale.

Just submitted 100% of the application tonight.

Congratulations to all of those with interview invites. If I can give one piece of advice........make the trip to Chapel Hill for the interview. If you are not 100% sold on Kenan-Flagler now, you will be after visiting.

Count me in for R1, I am a re-applicant and the admin told me that I may not be interviewed again. China Mainland.

Done. What are your stats (GMAT, GPA)?

After submitting application, I got an interview invitation within 3 hours. I think KF might want to take interview every applicant.
Lastly I'm not aware about the pros and cons of EA as apart from all the other things one of my criterion to select a school in US whether they can at least write in their web site that they can grant loan without cosigner for the intl students.
That is why I don't opt CMU which is otherwise very good fit for me.
Now I've a query to other forum member. Probably I'll apply to Hass at their second deadline. So if I get chance in KF that means Hass will not process my apps?

actually i applied to R1 not R2. and for R1/EA it doesnt seem to be binding cause it says you are required to pay fee to save a spot.... so if you dont want the spot you dont pay? it doesnt seem to be like Duke's where it actually says "drop all other apps".

Moved you to R1.

To quote KFBS: "You should not apply for Early Action if you are not prepared to commit immediately to attending UNC."

If you apply to Early Action and then pick a different school, then you're unethically gaming the system... in my opinion.

there's also the part wanting to know decision early which i do... i mean i finished the app on time so i figured i might as well submit it... oh well we'll see what happens...

When you submit EA for Duke, part of the agreement is that you contractually agree that you did not and will not apply Early Action / Early Decision to any other MBA program.

I would seriously advise contacting UNC or Duke and telling them that you need to be moved to the first non-binding round.

Hi IllustratorBlu,

Kenan-Flagler is very strong in marketing. Businessweek puts it as a top-10 marketing program, and from what I've heard from current students and administrators, KFBS students are highly recruited for marketing positions, specifically on the East Coast.

You'll find that the top marketing schools usually mentioned are Kellogg, Ross, Fuqua, Wharton, Kenan-Flagler, and Haas.

Guys, I have submitted for UNCKF R1 too. Got an interview call before submission too (Didnt receive it before submitting GMAT and personal Details) and have a campus interview early November.

1. - Does anyone know what kinda questions they ask ?

2. - Roughly how many applications are there in R1 and how many do they look to accept? - (Just a rough estimate?)

KFBS is #13 in Marketing on US News... but honestly, Businessweek's specialty rankings are more accurate. US News tends to put alot of the top 10 schools in the top 10 specialty rankings (hence Stanford at #4, HBS at #5, and CBS at #6).
