Alright I've got my interview and campus visit confirmed.

Can anyone here recommend a cheap hotel for the visit?

use priceline. I have saved a ton bidding for rooms near campus. I paid $80 a month (not including taxes or fees) for a hotel that was a 5 minute walk from campus.

$80 a month? Which hotel was that?

Haha, no kidding - I'll move there... :)

I would imagine he meant $80/night. I used priceline as well and got one of the nicer hotels in downtown Pittsburgh for $75/night. If at all possible, I would strongly recommend trying to stay near Shadyside, as that is the area you will probably end up living in if you matriculate (probably 90% of students live in that area).

Even if you don't stay in Shadyside, Pittsburgh is really easy to get around in, as long as you don't try to cross the bridges in the morning traffic.

hi friends,

My application status just changed to "Stage 3:Credentials Received - Appication Under Review by the Admissions Committee".
Can anyone please share their experiences or views on this?
And what was the stage 2 that i missed; Interview?
Have i been wait listed?
Please respond..

I know it's a nerve-wrecking process but take a breathe...or a snickers bar. If I remember correctly, my status went straight from Stage 1 to Stage 3. When I got the interview, it went back to Stage 2. After my interview was completed, it then moved to Stage 3 again.

I think your status just means they received everything and are reviewing it. It doesn't automatically mean you got skipped for an interview!

As much as we like to, it's near impossible to read into these things and discern what the adcom is doing or what it means!! I know that's much easier to say from the other side though....

So if my application status has not gone from a "Submitted" to "Stage 1 or 3", what does this mean?? When I log in, the application status is "Submitted" and that's it. Please advise.

Cheers

At this point, you cannot do anything. So my advise will be to sit back n relax. In case, there are other applications which needs to be submitted - concentrate on them. In case of an interview invite, you will be notified through an email. So just relax !

I didn't hit Stage 3 until after my interview, but others reported hitting Stage 3 before interview. I'm not sure there's much to be gleaned from the Stage information. Tepper follows the standard admissions process in terms of submit->receive->invite->interview->decision. So wherever you are in that process is exactly where you are :) I know that's not terribly insightful, but that's my understanding.

Yes, that's correct. Scholarship funds are explicitly stated in the second paragraph of the admissions letter, which is available online when decisions come out.

Hi Anyone,
I have been invited to interview but in the mail they dint give the name of the interviewer. For one of my friend the name was given, for me it was given as "others". Should I ask Carol to know who is my interviewer? Did it happen to any of the other guys here? It seems awkward for me to go to interview with out knowing the name of the interviewer though.

No idea.
From my last year's experience, Tepper's interview questions are pretty standard. So, interviewee should not affect you.

They probably just don't have anyone assigned to that slot yet due to scheduling challenges. I don't think it makes any real difference if you know your interviewer or not. Maybe you can call and ask once it's closer to the date if you really care? Otherwise, you will get their name when they introduce themselves to you!

I was told I would interview with Annie Dolan but then when I got there I was interviewed by Lauren. I don't think knowing who the person is matters. You should know yourself and the school. Plus no other school I've interviewed with tells you. My advice is don't worry about it.
