Hi Guys,

I really love Booth, and thinking of applying in R3.
My background: Male, Gmat: 680, Top US Public School, WE:4 yrs.
Do I get a chance to get an interview invite from BOOTH in R3?

Any advice?

Thanks

You do, but unless there is something extraordinary in your profile, I would recommend applying in R1.

Thank you, I really want to get into school this year, if I fail I would re apply in R1 for next year.

Which way do you think is better? Apply in R1 for 2015? Or Apply in R3 in 2014, and if fail, reapply in 2015?

Thank you

Usually unsuccessful re-applicants have to demonstrate quite a bit of change and transformation since the time of application. There is a short period between R1 of next year vs. R3 this year to demonstrate such large, significant transformation. So rather than hastily go for R3, I would recommend applying for R1 and prepare a solid application so that you can nail it in one try. Or else, re-applicants have much more work and demonstrations to do. You can easily find this information via many MBA consultants' free advice columns. They often write about about this topic regarding whether to apply R3 or wait one more year for R1. The point is usually to make sure to make a compelling good application in one go.

I would apply in R1 if I were you. I have a similar profile to yours and if won't get in in R2 - I will retake the GMAT for a 700+ and reapply in R1.

What do you mean by other slides? Do you mean like a slide projector? Essay 3 is Power Point. Feel free to save the document and upload it as a pdf to prevent any formatting changes.

Hey guys I am anxiously waiting for decision notifications. I applied on 1st round and was waitlisted. I sent additional material (essay and ppt) and I really want to get in! What are my chances of getting an admission offer?

Dear Mulich,

I think u should be fairly optimistic about ur chances. I am aware of atleast 6-7 people in the Booth Facebook page who have accepted offers from HBS, Stanford and a couple of other schools. I am guessing there may be a few more who may not have yet decided. So, all in all, I think you have a fair shot at it.

And then, the only thing in our hand is hope :) So keep that high and pray for the best!

Round Two Update

With our Round Two decision notification approaching on March 21, I wanted to take a minute and address a couple of questions that you may have as you wait for your decision. For our Round Two applicants, you’re probably wondering, “I completed my admissions interview. What’s next?” We wrapped up all of our Round Two interviews a few weeks ago. After each interview has been conducted, we receive an evaluation report which is added to the application file. The file is then reviewed by a member of our Admissions staff. I’m now in the process of finalizing our class – evaluating each applicant and trying to assess their potential fit within our community. As I review each application file, I also take into consideration all of the feedback provided by each of our Committee members to try to identify those students who embody the values of our school.

This is not an easy task, especially knowing that we also have a talented pool of waitlisted candidates from Round One to consider as well. Our waitlisted applicants had until March 1 to submit additional materials to support their candidacy. After this deadline passed, I began reviewing each of their files once again to determine if we should admit or deny them, or if they should remain on the waitlist through the next round.

We’ll announce our final decisions on Wednesday, March 21, and as we did for our Round One, we’ll call our admitted students to share the news and welcome them to our community. We’re so excited about the Class of 2014 and are looking forward to adding to this accomplished group.

If you have any questions about the evaluation process or how we evaluate fit, please feel free to post in the comments section below.

Is there any chance of receiving a notification prior to the deadline or does the school always adhere to the date?

I think Booth calls some admits prior to the notification deadline. Can you guys corroborate?

In Round 1 calls went out the day before the decision date. No decisions were rendered prior to that.

Hi there, how about your GMAT status? Mine is still awaiting, though I have done my interview early Feb. Start to worried about it. If Booth has no interests to match my GMAT, does that means my chance is little? Or am I thinking too much? This waiting is really torturous

A member who was admitted in R1 has addressed this a few times. His GMAT status was 'awaiting' up until the day of admittance. Don't worry about this, seems to be a quirk in their systems and/or application process.

I can confirm this further; I called the admissions department to make sure they had my GMAT scores when I noticed the status never changed. They confirmed that they had the scores and sometimes the status just doesn't change for some reason.
