So is there anyway to confirm that your interviewer has submitted his/her feedback?

Posted from my mobile device

Not that I'm aware of. I know they have to submit it by Feb 23 I.e today. I interviewed only 2 days back, So it's a short window.

I thought interviews had to be complete by today. I didn't know the feedback needed to be submitted too. I don't think that was mentioned in their communication to applicants. I honestly don't think there's a way to tell if your feedback was submitted.

However, I don't recall anyone having a problem with their interviewer not submitting it. If there hasn't been an issue in the past then I'm sure Booth has a process that we don't see that ensures nothing slips through the cracks.

I was told by my interviewer when his deadline was to submit the feedback after my interview was over. I also vaguely recollect him telling me that in case he doesn't submit his feedback in time, Booth will send him reminders to ensure that his feedback is received. A late interview feedback is neither held against the applicant nor influences the eventual decision.

I specifically asked my interviewer since my interview invite came in the last wave. He told me it was due by Feb 23rd. Hopefully, Booth has a process to remind them in case they forget.

I had my Booth interview tonight with an alum - and I must say speaking to this guy (class of 2000) even 12 years out was a really pro-Chicago experience for me. We met at a coffee shop after work and talked for about an hour. He began by giving some background about himself and let me know that he wanted the discussion to be very informal and that the primary purpose of the interview was to assess my interpersonal skills.

Questions:
Tell me about yourself, your education, and why you chose your current field (consulting)
When did you begin to think about an MBA?
Why Chicago?
Short/long term goals?
What other schools did you apply to?
Assuming you were accepted everywhere, what criteria would you use to decide?

I felt like I clicked with the alum straight away - we connected about being non-quant-jocks looking for strong academic programs but also for really solid relationships with peers and a social experience. This experience made me more positive about Booth - and thrilled to be DONE with all of my interviews!

....looking forward to turning some of those purple names on my profile into green ones! The wait is so long...

I had my interview on campus on Tuesday. A word of advice: if you forget your tie, all the shops on Michigan Ave. open at 10 AM. With a 20 minute cab ride to campus, this leaves just enough time to make the morning info session on time...(on the plus side, I got a really nice tie)

Anyway, I highly recommend visitng Booth. The structure of the campus visit program brought Booth to life in a way that no amount of online research can do. All of the students during the program were extremely helpful, and were very honest in responding to questions - "I don't know, but I can get you in touch with someone who does." I highly appreciated this approach. They were also well prepared for all of the standard questions applicants typically ask (and then some) - so much so that I ran out of new questions to ask my interviewer at the end of the day. If there was one piece of feedback I'd give, it would be to schedule some quick bathroom breaks! I was fully engaged from the moment I stepped on campus to the moment I left.

As an aside, I'd like to mention that the difference between my experience at Wharton vs Booth was like night and day. At Wharton, there was zero direction given - if I hadn't spent some time in Huntsman as an undergrad, I'd be lost where to find the student lunch, where the class visit was, how to reach the Admissions office (good thing I knew about the elevators in Huntsman), etc since no one was there to assist. The class I sat in on was also dry, but I attribute that to the professor. Booth was the opposite - students willing to help everywhere, with a well-run agenda. The class I sat in on (same subject as at Wharton) was also better, also probably attributable to the professor (but a 3 hour class? That's rough).

My interviewer was also more personable at Booth, but that was probably luck of the draw. Besides the usual questions already detailed on this forum, he also asked me what qualities I looked for when I hired my team, which arose naturally from the conversation.

Overall, I left with a very positive impression of Booth. Good luck everyone!

I didn't visit Booth but I had the same impression at Wharton. Man, I got so lost on my way to the interview. I was going up millions of stairs. The stairs were ugly and seemed like a basement. I didn't enjoy my experience at all but I have also heard great things about Wharton, so I think it's hard to judge with one bad experience. I did NOT connect to my interviewer at all as well.

I interviewed with an Alum with Booth and it was my best interview so far. I loved the Boothie. Such a sweet and awesome guy.

I'm WL at Wharton, but if I end up having the luxury of getting in Booth and off Wharton's waitlist, it will be a tough decision.

Nice! If (or rather when) that will happen, it will be a "good" problem to have. :-)

Hi All,

I had a trip planned to visit Booth, however I have come to learn that my visit now falls within their March 12 - 30 2012 abbreviated visiting schedule (chicagobooth.edu/fulltime/visit/dailycampusvisit.aspx). Unfortunately during this time, the program does not include a class visit nor lunch with students.

From past experience, is it still worth visiting during this time? For those who visited Booth, how valuable did you find the class visit and lunch with students?

I appreciate any thoughts on this! Thanks.

I think the class visit and lunch makes the experience a little more real. The class I visited (Corp Finance) was a bit dry but I witnessed first hand the "quant" nature of the program: they go deep very quickly. The lunch is an opportunity for you to really interact with the students ask anything from student life to clubs to academics. If you can schedule your trip for another time, I'd try to do that and get the full campus experience. Will you be going for an interview as well?

I think interacting with current students is the most valuable part of a campus visit. You can contact admissions people any time to get answers to admissions questions, but there are less opportunities to speak with current students face to face about why they chose Booth and to learn what it will really be like for 2 years of your life. They were in your shoes not too long ago.

If you are going to visit when students aren't there, at least come in the spring or summer when the weather is nice in Chicago!

Just my thoughts. I've done two visits. One as a Daily Campus Visit with the regular schedule and one Booth Live.

I interviewed last week, but my status on the website didn't change to Interview Completed or similar. How long does it take a 2nd year Amissions Fellow to finalize and submit his form to the AdCom...any experience with this?

I have e-mailed adcom on the same: "I just had my interview on campus last week, however, the admission's website does not yet reflect the updated status."

Answer: "This is not an issue that you need to worry about. Your status will not change."

This 3 week's wait is painful. How is everyone else coping with it? Is there anything else you can do at this point?

By the way, anyone knows the acceptance rate after the interview? Is it 40% of the people interviewed?

The way I cope is by going on vacation! I'm leaving the country this Friday and won't be back until a week later. That'll take care of a lot of the wait.

Exactly. I'm going on vacation next wednesday and only going back to work 2 weeks later, a day after Booth's D-day.

Waiting while at work would be impossible for me. So yes, 6 days of work left!!! Wohoo.

I am already on vacation but returning next week - so will have to cope up with 2 weeks of nail biting, non-working days! I think I need to stop coming to this forum in the meantime... :)
