My app went complete on Monday. Does anyone know what the typical decision time is for CBS? What's the quickest anyone on here has heard back?

Hey guys, Quick question: did you upload a picture of yourself in the application? I know it's optional but just wanted to get a sense if anybody does so.

here it is... defered, so sad.
Reading carefully the notification it really feels like a waitlist decision.
First you need to log in the system and it appears below : Decision status
Second because in the message they make a strong point on "review your application and determine if there are ways in which it could be strengthened"

In my case I know I should improve my GMAT, but I work like 80 hours a week so it's complicated...

Sorry to hear that!

Don't lose hope. If they would have wanted to ding you, they would have already done it!!

Good luck!!!

Both people with and without photos have been admitted, though I think most applicants did upload one.

Great, thanks! Yes, I understand the photo is not correlated to chances of admission :)

Well to be fair, if I get dinged or deferred, I intend to use my bad app photo as an excuse!!

Drat, no one would believe me if I used that excuse because I'm so insanely handsome.

I think you are right, but consider also that Columbia is asking for a picture because they want a picture. So, try to please them.

CBS Adcom fielded this question in the "ask admissions" thread. As he explains, it's optional, but it allows them to place a face with the application. I included a photo in my app.

hope that helps!

Sorry to hear that, but many of us are here with you. I think as adcom started reviewing regular round applicants, they want to compare us with them. Hopefully at least some of us could survive from this deferral.

I have talked to couple of MBA students who had gone through the deferral process (not necessarily at CBS). They mentioned that submitting an additional recommendation or writing another essay highlighting an aspect that wasn't sufficiently covered in the application could help.

App submitted last night and it quickly got updated to "being printed and prepared for review" this morning. Fingers crossed now. I know this question has been asked many many many times, but instead of going through the last 100 pages, does anyone have a quick answer to when I can expect to hear from the admission office after it's been flipped to "under review"????? Thanks a lot!!!

gl, a few RD applicants have heard back... they all submitted in late-Sept. If you're submitting now, my guess is that you'll hear in January.

Do interview invites come as an email or phone call? I know the admit is a call but for those of us in RD waiting on an interview should I stare at my phone or my inbox?
