when getting the call from adcom, is it a woman or man calling? I've gotten 2 unknown calls from a random guy but the connection was very bad and he gets dropped before we can talk......and since it's from an unknown number, I cannot call him back....this is killing me

I don't think there is one particular person designated to call for acceptances. Rather it is someone from the admissions office who was closely associated with your application's review. Btw, it showed up as unknown number when I got the call.

Ah...thanks! but it's making me more nervous...if that's the call from adcom and if they cannot reach me, what will they do next?

Congratulations!!

I am an ED applicant still waiting to hear back - my application went complete on the 17th November...although the longer I wait the more likely I feel it is that I will be either dinged or deferred!!!

Also, because of the time difference - I live in Australia - I really only have a couple of hours window each morning in which I think I will be called...which I suppose is a good thing since I don't stress the rest of the day.

I am guessing they do not call people after 5-6pm NY time?

Hi folks, I am waiting for the final decisions from CBS/Wharton and also just starting my R2 apps for Stanford. I'm seriously debating whether I should also apply to Booth given all the chatter I have heard about CBS vs. Booth MBA experience/value. This even came up during my CBS interview!

Has anyone tried to force rank CBS and Booth without caring too much about published rankings? USNews, FT, WSJ, etc are all over the map and the rankings are so opaque. I work in investment management and will remain in this field. To me, it made more sense to go to school in NY and take classes from CBS' Value Investing program. Talking to Booth alums, however, made me ponder if I should be more openminded about learning and go to a school like Booth where I can take wider range/number of electives. One Booth alum, who is also from NY, said that CBS feels like a commuter school. Obviously CBS alums would disagree with that view.

Anyone care to share their opinions on this? Should I post this question on another board? Thanks!

When did you go complete? I think we should assume at least 2 weeks.

I went complete on the 28th, I know I have to be patient... I feel it is a tricky equation to guess whenever it's too early or too late for a positive answer.

I went complete 2 weeks ago. This waiting is making me so nervous... that I am not even able to start R2 applications!!

Since RD applications have started to be reviewed, I hope to know something by the end of this week... hopefully good news!!!

Good luck!!

The thing with R2 app is that I need to ask more recommendations... and it's really boring.
The other thing is that Columbia is really my favorite school. I applied to other schools and during the interviews I had difficulties articulating why these schools were my favorite ones because it wasn't true. I was much more enthousiastic during my Columbia interview. I didn't have to push it because it was sincere, I dream with Columbia.
