I submitted on 1/4/2012 and got invited to an interview this morning. So, for those of you still waiting, there still is a real chance. BTW, as opposed to other schools' interview invites, CBS' email said "your application status has changed," so I initially freaked out b/c w/o an interview an application status change is most likely a ding, unless you are a genius/superstar and they decided to take you without an interview.

Hey guys,

I have been following this thread for more than a month and its been great therapy while i was going through the process. I live and work in NYC and I didn't want to leave my job, I figured why leave for two years and then try to win back my own job.

I applied to the EMBA Saturday program and I just got the acceptance call.

2/3/2012 - Submitted the application
2/7/2012 - Went under review after recommendations were submitted.
2/16/2012 - Invited for Interview
Last week - went for Interview with the adcom, I thought I had messed up the interview.
This week - Got the acceptance call,

My GMAT was 670, with GPA of 3.73. I think I had very compelling personal essays and I laid out a clear career path in the goals essay.

I think whats important for the EMBA is to show that you are sure about what you want to do and you have your management's moral support. Also, the ad-com liked that i addressed my weakness in writing by taking a Continuing Ed. course.

Hope this helps someone looking at the EMBA program.

It looks like there are no interviewers within 250 miles of me (Nashville). There's always the phone interview option, but I'd strongly prefer to interview in-person.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How often do additional interviewers show up? Any advice?

Congrats! Yes, I had a similar situation. I only had one option in my state (from whom I have yet to hear back from two weeks later). A friend of mine interviewed with the alum here in my state and had a disaster interview: arrogant, two+ hours, case interview, etc. Anyway, I searched for an alum in the neighboring state (be careful not to keep throwing in locations because it will only give you a total of 9 alum options) and found a couple of alums with whom I would match up well with (did some googling and LinkedIn searches on them). I ended up catching a cheap flight and did a day trip for my interview. It was a great experience and I got some great feedback from my interviewer. Now if my application would go complete, my nerves might settle a bit!!! (The alum mentioned that he submitted it the same day as our interview last week, so who knows what is going on.)

I finally got a call today from admissions. Applied 12/18, interview 1/20, Complete 1/24, so I got a call from Unknown and the voicemail was from one of the admissions associate directors. Now its after business hours and I left a message, but will have to wait until tomorrow to know. Is there any possibility that this call will be anything other than an accept!!!??? Would they do that? Thanks for your help!

Sorry for being OCD, but this process is grueling!!!!

CBS has been known to call with follow-up questions. I'd say hope for an admit call, but be fully prepared for someone to ask you questions about your profile, career goals, EMBA vs. FT MBA, etc. Either way, this is a pretty good sign. If you answer the questions to their liking, you may get the admit right then and there on the phone. Best of luck!

Sorry for the delay in replying! GREAT tip btw - you were right. The call ended up being an EMBA push, and for my profile it made sense (career switcher, tons of experience, high rank already @current firm), but it was horribly deflating to get to this point and get that call.

But I put together a strong argument for full time and hit all points of concerns and reached back out to admissions. THEN after the longest 11 days EVER I got my phone call EARLY THIS WEEK - I'm IN!!!
