Hey RaiDevansh,

I've applied to ABS. Any idea about the Video essay and Interview round?
I mean what kind of questions do they have in the video essay round?

Hi M,

Sorry for the late reply. I was away on some professional commitment. By the looks of it, you might have already been through your interview rounds by now. Nevertheless, I would still answer your questions.

ABS's interview pattern is quite engaging . The interviewer brings you in your comfort zone and tries to create a dialogue instead of a monologue. The video essays is performed through Kira software which creates a convenient ambiance for the applicant. You will be asked two video questions. The preparation time for each question will be about 45-60 seconds. Your response time would vary from 60 seconds and beyond depending on the type of questions. Post the video questions, there will be a written question as well. The written round also happens on Kira with similar format as the video round.

Few notable questions on Kira might be:

Q1. Tell us about a time you failed. How did you feel and what did you learn?
Q2. Tell us about a time you motivated people to drive change in an organization or community.
Q3. When you have multiple tasks due at the same time, what strategies do you use to ensure all tasks are completed on time?

You can find few such questions on the following link.

http://gradspaths.com/category/mba/video-interview-questions/

Interview round with ABS is an enthralling experience. It revolves around your resume. Your wok experience and how you have made a difference at your workplace; your leadership skills; strengths and weaknesses. It is an open platform. Be yourself. Ask questions. Have your long term goal and short term goal aligned and pragmatic. And everything else will fall in place.

Hope it answers your questions. Keep the forum updated on further development of your application. Looking forward to meet you at Amsterdam Business School in 2018!

Have a great day.

Regards,
Devansh

Hi Devansh,

I appreciate your reply. I have been through my interview rounds and I've received the admit. As you mentioned, the interview process with Jesper was quite engaging.
To be honest, I did have a few doubts as nobody I've spoken to had heard of ABS. But that interview really helped to put things into perspective.

Have you accepted the offer as well?

Good day!

Warm Regards,
M

Hi M,

Congratulations on your admit. Yes, I have accepted the offer.

I had a couple of other offers from Canada and one from US but gauging my variables and a higher incentive in the form of scholarship from ABS helped me in making my decision.
Yes, if you go through Economist or even at GMATClub which discusses Global MBA, you would not find enough info on ABS. I had the same issue. Therefore, I reached out to professionals in Netherlands (through LinkedIn). They had a very positive outlook about ABS. I also reached out alumni and current students. Everyone appreciated my decision to join ABS. I guess, it all boils down to what you expect from an MBA. I am looking for Job security post MBA, good ROI and a great international exposure. ABS checks all the above boxes. From what I have heard, ABS had 100% placement rate for the previous batch. Due to Brexit, companies are making Amsterdam their second base in Europe. So, things are looking bright.

QS World University Rankings: Global MBA Rankings 2018 recently put ABS in the list of Superior Colleges.

Hope, I provided you the required info.

Also, if you need to connect with current students/Alumni to gather more info, let me know. I can help with that.
Keep us updated on your decision.

Looking forward to your reply.

Regards,
Devansh

Hi Devansh,

Appreciate the reply and congratulations on the admit to you too.

Our cases are quite similar. I too was considering offers from universities in the UK and Ireland. But given a shorter duration of work permit in GB and an uncertainty over the ever changing visa regulations, Netherlands and the scholarship offered at ABS seem like a much attractive prospect.

I spoke to some current students and alumni as well and it really helped to alleviate my doubts. You're indeed correct in pointing out that the companies are moving towards Amsterdam (and Ireland) due to Brexit. That makes the prospect of working in Netherlands all the more attractive.

I'd love to connect with more students and alumni. I'll really appreciate your help on this.
Also we can connect over whatsapp and discuss other aspects now that we've secured the admit.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,
M

Hi M,

Indeed. I have added you on whatsapp. Let us now discuss other nuances that come with a college admit such as education loan and visa related queries.
I am in touch with couple of other admits who will be joining ABS in fall 2018. Let's hope we all can help each other out.

Looking forward to share quality MBA time with you and others.

Have a great day.

Devansh
