Calling all Applicants: INSEAD August 2024 Intake

Jyotimishra Insead alumna here. The adcom might think that you are still less experienced than the average INSEAD student. They may also feel they should also give you time to improve your GMAT. Now there will be other factors that need to be considered like your demographic, nationality, current region of work, but it is very likely your Q score will be seen as a potential hurdle in ensuring your academic success at INSEAD. This is further validated by the V score. I highly recommend that you retake because as a reapplicant you will lose the initial appeal the adcom will feel when they read your application for the first time. I am telling you this because your area of work actually sounds quite impressive.

For those from overrepresented populations at INSEAD, a Q49 score (the 75th percentile) may be considered borderline elite. This score signals to the admissions committee that you can handle the rigorous and analytical academic curriculum.

For native English speakers, on the other hand, a high verbal score is viewed positively by admissions committees because it demonstrates a strong command of the language, which is consistent with the expectations of this population.

For non-native speakers- Your verbal score is more likely to reflect your ability to participate in discussions in a truly global and diverse group at schools that place a high value on discussion-based pedagogy. But a less than average GMAT verbal score should be balanced by a high Quant score.
