Does anyone know if Haas sent out the invite in a batch process or as they review it? For example, for those who received the invites, did it go out at like 12:01AM or is it a random time?

Knowing would help those of us who are anxiously waiting for the invite from checking our e-mails non-stop. :stupid
I had a false alarm when I got an e-mail from Haas, but then saw the subject was MBA eNews. :( I had my hopes up, only to be shot down. :2gunfire:

How does the waitlist move at Haas?

I'm guessing the below three events to trigger waitlists to move -

1. R2 deadline
2. R1 deposit deadline (does anyone have an idea as to when this is?)
3. People withdrawing

Any ideas as to how many are waitlisted this year from R1?

I am a waitlisted candidate and will be interviewing march 2nd week.

Even I am curious when is the deposit due for R1.
R2 deadline should definitely see some movement - However, i think it would be more of dings for R1 people on waitlist and accomodating R2 people in that queue.

They may not accept many people of the waitlist until they review R3 apps at least. [May be even R4].

Though, none of this is a fact - its pure speculation.
I do hope it turns out to be incorrect and they accept most of us waitlisted folks.

I just keep reminding myself - its not as bad as a ding - but then, who knows it turns out to be worse than a ding - a ding after 8 months of pain. :beat

I'm an R3 applicant. Just received my "your application has been forwarded for review" email. I thought it was nice of them to send me an email about that. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known unless I checked my account.

I guess the waiting game begins now. I heard we're supposed to expect interview invites in "early March."

congrats hmmnyc! PM me if you want to meet up for Super Saturday.

As for the W/L questions, here are some facts that I know of:

1. R1 W/L people will be reconsidered after R2 decisions go out. In general, the adcom tries not to keep people waiting for more than one round. But of course, some candidates are right on the fence, which may cause them to have to wait until R3 or R4.

2. There will be W/L movement after 3/18, the date the adcom told W/L people to submit their additional information by.

3. There should be some movement after the R1 deposit deadline, but that's speculation on my part. There will definitely be movement for R2 W/L people after R3 decisions.

Hope that helps calm some nerves! Stop speculation and relax! :P (I know it's difficult though...)

I received my Super Saturday invite today even though I live in the Bay Area. It's actually great timing since I'm in Boston looking at my R1 schools right now. Depending on how this week goes I'll know if I'm set on moving to Boston or if I'd rather pursue Haas and stay in the Bay/Silicon Valley.

Hi all,

It looks like I won't be invited for a round 2 interview at Haas

Congrats to those who have!

My resume has recently become a great deal stronger (in terms of my future career etc.) Do you guys think it's too late to update my application? Is such a thing possible in general at Haas? My goal would be to shift a ding to a WL.

Thanks

Good luck! If Haas is where you want to be, you can at least try to use the other admits to leverage some kind of fellowship. Make sure you tell them where else you've been admitted while maintaining your preference to Haas.

Tamg, don't count yourself out yet...there were a couple people here who got invites like a week before the R1 decision date. Check back in the thread for details.

Okay, so if R2 people submitted Dec 9 and waited 10 weeks to get the first invites on Feb 24, does that mean us poor R3'uns won't hear anything back until April 9?!

I suspect we'll hear some news after SS for R2, which I think is 3/7. The Director of Admissions mentioned that they were targetting early March to begin releasing R3 interview invites.
