Hi, I am interested in the Healthcare Certificate program. I have experience of working with a Healthcare Technology firm and part-time with a Healthcare Social Enterprise. I am interested in the courses on Social Entrepreneurship in the Healthcare domain. I am trying to contact someone from the Healthcare club at Haas. Do you know anyone whom I can contact?

Thanks

I would contact anyone here:

https://groups.haas.berkeley.edu/hcc/members.htm

Co-Prez is probably a good place to start.

Hi Kryzak,

I contacted 2 people off that list and did not get any response :(
Do you know any student I can contact?

School just started for us, so they might not have looked at all their emails yet (the volume jumped by 10x this week). If you still don't hear, you should definitely email hsa@haas.berkeley.edu for the Haas Student Ambassadors to connect you with someone.

Has anybody come across the Certificate in Certificate in Energy & Environmental Innovation (https://ceei.berkeley.edu/p2.html), offered by CEEI? It sounds similar to MOT. There doesn't seem to be much information available on it yet.

I believe this is a new certificate for MBAs that will focus on Energy, where as MOT focuses on managing technology in general and is not specific to any tech industry. It should be more defined later in the year.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Kryzak, it sounds like something really interesting. I plan on visiting in the last week of Sept so hopefully I can try to talk to someone involved.

Cool, I would recommend you contact either the club officers of BERC or you can send an email to hsa@haas.berkeley.edu to see if anyone can talk to you in person while you're visiting.

LGBT Diversity Admissions Workshop in New York!

Some of you might not know this, but Haas is committed to attracting and forming a very diverse student body, even with some of the limitations that California's Prop 209 puts on it. We are one of the very few schools that have not just the Women and Minority Diversity Admissions Workshops, but also not one, but two diversity admissions workshops for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered (LGBT) applicants, thanks to the hard work of the Q@Haas student club, company sponsors, and dedicated alumni.

With that said, the first event in New York City is coming up on 9/10, Thursday, 6:30pm, at JP Morgan Chase, with all the event details and registration here:

https://ssl.haas.berkeley.edu/Admission ... forum=4791

As the VP of Admissions, I will be there along with admissions officers, students, and alumni to answer your questions and talk about Haas.

For information on the Women (10/10) and Minority Workshops (10/31), and the LGBT Workshop (11/21) at Haas, please check out this website and register accordingly.

https://mba.haas.berkeley.edu/workshop.html

Cheers!

Re: Calling all Berkeley-Haas Fall 2010 Applicants [#permalink]
been a little quiet here lately eh? how are R1 apps going?

anyone want to organize and update the list of R1 applicants? :)

from BW forums:

Quote:
I'm surprised there's a lull on this thread, considering everyone should be visiting schools and doing their R1 apps at about this point. =)

Anyway, here are some resources that will be useful for many of you to learn more about Haas whether through cyberspace or in person:

Haas Student Blogs - a great way to get a glimpse of what student life is like on campus. Informal, fun, and lots of pictures.
https://berkeleymbastudents.blogspot.com/

Haas Student Ambassador (HSA) Blog - new format this semester, we will be bringing back the "A Day in the Life" of our student ambassadors. This is a more detailed and structured overview of a typical day as a student at Haas
https://haasstudentambassadors.blogspot.com/

Haas Visitation Program - Come for lunch with students, an infosession right after, and then a class visit if it fits your schedule.
https://mba.haas.berkeley.edu/visitation.html

Student Clubs - do some research on what clubs will help you network and make friends who are like-minded in career and/or social interests!
https://www.haas.berkeley.edu/MBA/student/

And of course, if you have any questions, feel free to post them here or email hsa@haas.berkeley.edu!

it is a little surprising to see some of these threads so dead this year, compared to last year. Hope it picks up. :)

I am visiting Haas next Friday (9/25), and was curious if anyone had input how I could best use my time there (given that there are no Friday classes). Obviously I would've liked to visit a class, but my schedule just didnt work out to visit any other day.

I have a friend who is a current first year student, so I'm sure he can show me around a bit, but any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Definitely looking foward to my visit! Thanks!

dr2005, I would strongly suggest you do the lunch with students at 12pm and the Haas Student Ambassador led information session at 1pm. Depending on your interests, I can meet with you before 12pm or after 2pm. Just PM me.

But yeah, other than that, there are no classes to check out on Fridays and most students will probably be off campus. :(

So I would take it to mean to avoid visiting on a Friday? I am going to be in the Bay from Oct 1st - Oct 4th and really wanted to drop by to see a class, but they are all full on Thursday. Would it make a difference other than the classes?

I'm still on the fence about Haas, the admission rate is just pretty damn scary. I am debating about going to the admission event tonight at Bain in LA. Has anyone been, is it worth it?

The classes are the only difference. If there's a class you really want to sit in, PM me and I'll see what I can do.

The rate is scary, but if you have a strong application, your chances are still pretty decent.

Hope you went to the event, it's a lot of good information and Q&A with students and alums.

If you did, say hi to Veronica for me.
