Hi All,

Has anyone who applied in round three been invited to interview yet? Have any R3 applicants heard anything?

I am in a rough spot because two other schools have offered me full tuition scholarships, and I have to declare my intentions to accept by this Friday. Berkeley is my top choice, but $110k is a lot of money to turn down based on a hope of getting into the second most selective school in the country. I really don't know what to do. I called the Admissions Office and they told me that they do not rush decisions to students. Any thoughts?

Are the other two schools good schools? Would you be happy at them? How much is the deposit going to cost you?

If they're not top-tier schools, I would recommend putting down the deposit just so you have something solid in place, then waiting to hear back from Haas R3. That way your worst-case scenario is that you lose $1000-2000 in deposit money if you back out from one of them to accept a later admit from Haas. A few thousand dollars isn't much in the grand scheme of things--it may just be price you pay to go to your #1 choice school and benefit from the higher ROI of a top-tier school.

Hello. I wonder if someone could help me out:

I wasn’t invited to an interview yet but my status changed a couple of days ago to:
“Your application for admission to the Berkeley Full-time MBA program is under review by the Admissions Committee. Please visit the web site again and log in with your user name and password on or after the decision date for the round in which you applied to check your application status.”

It looks like they are telling me I won’t be invited to an interview and all is left is to wait for the deadline and see if I’m waitlisted. Otherwise, why would they tell me that the next status change would be on the decision date?!

Does anyone here know if I’m correct? I don’t want to keep waiting for an invite email that will never come. :(

Thanks!

I remember quite a few post during R2 about this status change. From my experience, I had that status and was waitlisted without interview. But am not sure that this was the case for all those who got that status...

A general advice would be to not read too much into these status updates, as I'm really not sure this mean anything anyway.

At this moment my status says

"Your application is ready for review, but we may need additional materials before a final decision can be made. Please read the note below, which indicates what is missing from your file. Please feel free to e-mail or call us if you have any questions regarding these documents. "

Is this the typical?

I'm an R3 applicant from Canada and I've got my off-campus interview this Friday.

Does anyone know roughly what percentage of interviewed students historically have been accepted?

Is there a "note below"? If so do what it says.

Have you interviewed or been invited to interview? I remember my status saying something similar after I was invited to interview--I had to send in an official sealed transcript since I had uploaded an unofficial transcript to my application. Or it could be that they need an official GMAT score, clarification on your undergrad GPA if you're from outside the US, or something like that.

Yes there is a note asking for transcripts in case I get an interview and what they will need in case I get admitted.

Don't they ask from everyone official transcripts in case they interview them?

Ok, you're fine for now then--there's no need to send a transcript in anticipation of an interview invite so just wait til it comes. I sent my transcript in a few days after I got my interview invite and another few days later I got an email from AdCom telling me that they had received my transcripts and had everything they needed.

One thing that I would recommend all you guys with international undergrad is to get started on requesting your sealed transcripts and degree/diploma copy attested by your institute. Even though Haas does not ask for those until invited for interview, you should definitely get them shipped to you especially if you are now living in US. It may take 2-3 weeks (who knows) and it probably is better to be pro-active than wait for later. Worst case - Haas may give you conditional admit if you do not submit the official sealed transcripts and degree by decision deadline. I for one had tough time getting transcripts from my undergrad because things work differently there than here.

Just 2 cents based on my personal experience.

As noted earlier, I received an interview invite and my current status reads:

Please use our Interview Scheduler link below to set up your interview. Please contact Pam Maestas at XXXXXXX or by e-mail at XXXXXX if you encounter any difficulties. Good luck!

This has been my status ever since my app went under review, and I just got an interview invite today. Now my status has changed, of course, but this status is not saying you're going to get a ding or WL.
