I am a Round 2 applicant and received an invite for an interview today. I was surprised that it wasn't specifically for Super Saturday, as I have never done an official campus visit and am based in Pittsburgh. Does anyone have a sense for why certain people are selected for Super Saturday and others are not? Believe me, I'm not complaining. I'm psyched that I received an interview invite. I was just wondering if anyone knew the logic.
Thanks!

MerBiz,
Could you please give us your profile - GMAT/WE/Sector, etc

Any idea on the Super Saturday v. regular interview?
Hey all: New to the forum. Just got my invite today for Super Saturday! MerBiz, it's odd that you're in Pittsburgh and got a "normal" interview invite... Anyway, I'd be interested in hearing people's thoughts regarding SS interview invites versus traditional invites. All the more odd since I've already done a campus visit.

Thanks for sharing your profile. No idea why you have been invited to a regular interview (as opposed to the Super Saturday) ...one guess could be that Haas has a lot of alumni volunteers in your area.

Ok. I am wondering what people think about requesting to attend Super Saturday. The interview dates they gave me on campus are for the weekdays leading up to Super Saturday.
MerBiz: My gut reaction is that it cannot hurt and might even show initiative. Also, there is no way that everyone with a Super Saturday invite will be able to make it (for whatever reason--personal, work, etc.). So I would imagine they would be willing to fill in the spots for every SS decline that they get. Just my two cents (and it's probably worth less than that).

Can I pretty much just scrap hoping on this? Is anyone in the same boat?
I'm sick of waiting for an update.

I hear you. I suspect they're done handing out R1 invites. The only hope is to be on that pre-waitlist though I frankly am really disappointed with how they've handled admissions this year. For one, I can't see why they don't have a mid decision deadline like other schools. If you don't you want to interview people, let them know so they can get on with their lives. Second, how can you be handing out R2 invitations to interview before you're done with R1? If you're putting R1 applicants on a pre-waitlist with the option to interview later then why don't you just interview them first? I thought first-in-first-out was a rule of thumb when it comes to any sort of admissions. But what do I know! I am just an applicant who paid USD 200 to be messed around with.
