I was hoping for the best and expecting the worst so I am prepared. I am targeting Kellogg, Berkeley, and NYU. I have Kellogg all set to go, just need to click the button. Berkeley is on revision 7 or 8.
Sad thing is, Columbia was by FAR my first choice. I liked pretty much everything about it (NY, Finance, it was my fav school applying to undergrad, it was my favorite school visit) and it fit in perfectly with my plans and my gf's plans (she's graduating in December with a masters in architecture and will be looking for work. she went to Columbia as an undergrad and has the most connections in NYC. Plus her family's 30 minutes away). That being said, I didn't expect to get in because there are so many good applicants and there is nothing really special about my application except my GMAT score, which I think is a stupid test anyway.
I actually hired an admissions consultant for my essays because I am so paranoid about not getting in anywhere. Can't speak for the results so far, but while I thought it was expensive at first, now I think they don't charge enough as the guy I'm working with has put in SO many hours helping me.
Anyway, good luck to those who are still in the game. and to ds7 and raven52, better luck to you in your next applications.
