Submitted for ED! Good luck to us all!

Statuses changed twice recently:
1) Printed last night after submitting last evening.
2) Under review today noon

This is freakishly fast for me. Is this normal?

It's faster than some, but I don't think it's that unusual. It seems like a good sign that the adcom is back to work...

As a j-termer, I hope to hear back from cbs asap. Next week I gotta renew my lease to my apt and it will be a serious hassle to find a sublet for my apt if cbs accepts me.

Any word today?

Sadly today marks 12 weeks since I've submitted and I'm still waiting on an answer :(

Had my second interview with admissions 1 week ago and trying to be as patient as possible.

Do I need to do anything after the interview? Do I just sit and wait for the status to go complete and be paranoid until the decision?

R2. Anyone going to the DC info session tomorrow?
Went to the DC meeting yesterday. Mary Miller was there as well as about 8 alumni who all gave their insights on their CBS experiences, post-CBS careers, etc.

Not really big inside information although I do remember one thing that Mary Miller said that may give some solace to those who have been "deferred." Dean Miller said that it is not possible to be deferred from ED to RD, as many believe. In fact, if you are "deferred" in ED, you will still get your decisions before R2s of other schools. She stressed this saying that if someone was proactive enough to apply ED to CBS, they should not be penalized on timing and would find out before R2 deadlines for other schools.

CFAers: I have it listed in my resume, but if you guys have CFA progress w/o the actual designation, are you indicating it anywhere in your app? If so, where?

Moss, I'm in the same boat as you, written some exams but no designation. I briefly mentioned it in my goals essay as an example of how I'm working towards my short term goals. Otherwise, I didn't go into it too much. I'm already quant/technical/nerdy enough as it is, so talking about studying at home to write tests is not something I wanted to emphasize.

I had my interview on 09/29. I checked the interview website this morning and it shows nothing, however the application website still states that I have been invited to interview and that they will contact me in 24 hours. Does this mean that the interviewer still has not submitted the report?

Yeah I mentioned it extremely briefly in my essays and have it on my resume, but it could easily be looked over. I have passed all 3 levels, which basically means when my work experience catches up (and unless I become a farmer or go live in a cave somewhere, its going to happen) I will have my charter. You may want to downplay the "quantyness" of it, but I came from a pretty non-target school, so I think this, along with my GMAT and good GPA, helps to assuage any doubts an adcom may have over my ability to handle the coursework.

Also, Columbia has a long history with the CFA, so if anyone values it, its CBS. I just want to make sure I get credit if any credit is due.

That's my understanding. The next status change will be "Complete" after the interviewer has submitted the report and their system has been updated. After that it will change to "Final Decision Is Rendered" after, well, a final decision has been rendered.
