ds7, thanks for the reply. Yes, I would definitely like to hear about any such service. It would be huge if you could ask the other candidates and let me know. Thanks.
ds7, thanks ! I checked it out - used the website for an unofficial GPA calculation. Looks good. Going to use the GPA that the website provided. Thanks.
Did they charge you anything?

I sure hope so - I had my second interview with admissions last Friday and this Friday will mark 12 weeks since submission. I can barely handle waiting any longer!

Mary Miller was in Chicago for an info session on Monday. She was very nice and the alumni there provided great insights into specific areas of Columbia.

She stressed the honor code for ED and told how CBS checked blogs to see if an applicant who received an offer should withdraw his applications. Otherwise that offer might be rescinded. Just FYI.

She also spoke highly of Professor Greenwald and the international tours. No useful info about adcom was gleaned from my end other than 50-100 applications are being sent every week. Right before deadlines, thousands of applications are expected so she encouraged to apply early.

Wow, so they do keep tabs on us here?!?! Well in case you're reading this Mary, just for the record, I will rescind all other apps should I be accepted ED.

Good for CBS to check whether people are honoring the code.

Agreed, they should definitely ensure the code is being followed. However, it makes me wonder whether they are only looking into your online persona after they extend an ED offer, or if they are using it as part of the admissions decision? And if so, where else are they looking? Facebook, twitter? I guess it's all fair game in the online age, but I had always figured the adcom would be too busy to spend time digging around online.

I'm absolutely going to keep working on my apps until I hear that I'm in Columbia. The school is just too competitive to put all your eggs in that basket. That being said, Columbia is the right school for me and I really hope to be admitted!

Yes, 5 bucks - for the instant GPA calculation - unofficial ofcourse - since it's self reported.

Completely agree with Moss here. Also, no one is breaking the honor code simply by applying to other B Schools in regular rounds (and not in EDs and EAs).

The adcom too should realize that the delay in decisions (ranting on the delay starts again!) is affecting our chances at other schools in case we get dinged by Columbia :(
In short we should get the decisions sooner!!!

Waiting is much harder than I had anticipated. I was so happy this morning when my app went to being printed and prepared for review, progress! I don't know how I'm going to last until the decision...
