Waiting for the update in my application status is killing me now - resulting in over-analysis of the spreadsheet as usual! So here is a request - can we add a column on nationality in the spreadsheet.

Adding nationality was contemplated previously, but it was concluded that most didn't want to disclose.

I can sympathize about how tough the waiting is... in my experience staring at the spreadsheet looking for answers just increases your anxiety level.

it's been a week since the last movement in this thread (interview invite, defer, accept, reject). seems like it's the first time (since the first acceptance went out) that we went a full week with nothing.

driving me nuts.

Agreed, trying not to obsess, but it's tough. The big US admissions events roadtrip looks to be ending this week, so hopefully that helps.

ds7,

Many are like us. I am not able to concentrate on other stuff. Its a very annoying feeling.. :?:
everytime my cell phone notifies me of a new email.. I jump and check immediately only to realize its the most insignificant email that I've ever received. I am just waiting for an email from the adcom ..

Brainhurt, you're correct. After my call last week, my interviewer had mentioned that they were leaving for two weeks for trips. So if anything, you may hear back this Friday. Good luck!

Question about GPA.

How have the Indian applicants converted their percentages into a GPA on a 4 scale ?

I have 55% from Pune University. Topper had about 72%.

But based on the scale given on the CBS website, my score translates to a GPA of 0. Yikes !

What have the others done ? Thanks.

I would break 72% into 4 quartiles, 0-18, 19-36, 37-54, and 55-72. By this logic you fall in the bottom part of the top quartile, somewhere between a 3.3 and a 3.7. This is just a suggestion, you will need to substantiate the claim that 72% was indeed the highest grade. You could get a letter/e-mail from the Registrar of the College. Pune University is a decently large institution, I'm sure they have records that can be helpful. Also, use your optional essay to better explain this.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip co2012. Will research this in more detail. I have emailed Admissions as well - Will update once I hear something back.

Regarding the question on GPA:

I have not done this as my University awards grades and GPA, however, I have heard from other candidates that there are certain organizations (not sure about their names) which charge you small amounts to convert your percentage to GPA as awarded by the US universities. When I participated in some information sessions, people had questions regarding whether these conversions are accepted and most of the B Schools actually do.

Let me know in case you are interested in such a service and I will ask the other candidates who have previously used such a service about the name of the organization/s.

ds7, thanks for the reply. Yes, I would definitely like to hear about any such service. It would be huge if you could ask the other candidates and let me know. Thanks.

There has been a tour of Europe going on for the past 2 weeks, parallel to the one in the US. There were a lot more US dates, so one assumes that the bulk of the adcom members on the road will be back on Friday. (fingers crossed!)

Hello all

I've just submitted my app, please add me to the roll call.

My status within 2 hours changed to "Being printed and prepared for review". Quick question on this - one of my recommendors is yet to submit his rec - will they just wait until my missing rec is submitted and THEN review my app? Guessing I don't need to take any action over this and inform adcom of this situation (as it clearly states missing rec in app)

Post-submission paranoia kicking in after all that effort gone into it!

Thanks a lot guys

No need to take any action with adcom. Once they receive the recommendation your app will go under review. You may want to follow up w/ your recommender though to make sure he gets it in as soon as possible. If you're applying ED or for J-Term, the earlier you submit the better.

ds7, thanks ! I checked it out - used the website for an unofficial GPA calculation. Looks good. Going to use the GPA that the website provided. Thanks.
