Does anyone receive the follow up call from adcom for follow up questions? Is that a bad sign? Are they asking the questions in the interview or different ones?

a few of us have, including me. It seems like they do a follow up when they have questions about your application that your interview didn't answer. I think its a good sign! If you had bombed the interview they wouldn't be wasting their time calling, right? From my exp and what i've seen here, they are just short talks, 2-3 questions. here was mine:

1) what will you do for the next 9 mo if you are admitted (i mentioned in app and interview that i just got laid off)
2) what will you get involved with at cbs, what are your plans for your internship - thats pretty competitive, what if that doesn't work out

then we talked about my dog and how he was going to adjust to the city and my husbands job search. it was very collegial - when i visited the admissions office on campus, everyone was very nice. They just want to have all their questions answered before taking it to the committee. good luck

Thank you! I am trying to stay optimistic.

17 days is long but the odds are in your favour given then acceptance rate from the spreadsheet (let's assume it is a representative sample!) and let's not forget there are always outliers. The spreadsheet link on the first page goes to the form that one fills up to enter data into it, not the spreadsheet itself.

I am such a nerd, I want to calculate the average time between interview and complete.

Someone pasted the link on one of these 100 odd pages but I don't have the permalink. Help, anyone?

Hey all.

I had interview on Friday that I thought when very very well. Are there instances where people had great interviews and did NOT get in?

Also, happens next? An email saying my interview is compelete? An email saying my app review is final? What happens after the interview?

Interviews are used for different reasons for different types of candidates. There are three types of candidates who receive interviews:
1. Superstar candidates - interview can be considered a formality
2. Competitive candidates - interview can play a larger role here and get someone off the fence
3. Diamond in the rough candidates - most likely a ding, but adcom is willing to give the candidate a shot if the interview goes very very well.

So if your interview went well, then that's fantastic. It'll definitely help with your chances so it's one less thing to worry about

Just got my call around 1 PM EST. I'm in! For those of you waiting a long time after your interview for a decision, take my application as hope. I had my first interview on 9/28, a follow-up interview with Adcom on 10/22 (a few days after my interview went complete), and just found out about my decision today. Good luck everyone else!
