Oh no, I'm also a SEAS undergrad... I would have thought they would hold off on the ding longer. Now I'm scared.

HBS for example is notorious for placing a huge importance on the application itself, thats why most people are dinged without even an interview, but about 80-90% of people who are interviewed are admitted. Columbia on the other hand tends to interview more people, but take a more holistic approach, and probably give more weight to the interview than Harvard does.

Irrelevant to CBS, but those HBS numbers are nowhere near accurate. HBS, according to the Director of Admissions, admits 60% of interviewees. This is comparable to CBS.

Geez, I feel bad enough after getting rejected after an HBS interview! Haha. I hope I wasn't the 1 out of 10!

I wasn't trying to offend people who were interviewed then rejected by HBS. There are a lot of places to look for info, and when I was looking into it a few months ago, thats what I had read. If you have the data straight from the director, I can't argue, I'm just a (false?) messenger.

Yeah, with HBS, it's around 60% who get admits from interviews. It's in line with most schools.

There's an interview with Sandy (admissions consultant) who tells you who the 4/10 or 6/10 (whichever it is) are that don't get the admit.

No explanation needed, I wasn't offended! HBS offended me when they rejected me, haha.

Now, let's hope for some more CBS invites!

Although I suspect by now most of the class is filled, if you look at this page (under Days from Submit to Interview Invite): https://gmatclub.com/forum/calling-all-c ... 94306.html, you'll see that the number of days it takes from submit to interview is really no indication of how your app process is going. There were people who were ultimately denied when they got an interview after 5 days, and people who were admitted when it took 72 days to get an interview, though those are outliers.

People who submitted in January are starting to get interview invites just now, so I'd say hold tight and hope for the best. Its not over til its over :)

We're in the same boat and I haven't heard anything either. I've also seen quite a few others like us on the forum. I've seen some dings and interview invites start to go out for those who submitted on 01/05 over the last couple of weeks, but nothing overwhelming, so I think we'll start seeing some more action over the next three to four weeks. I know that CBS fills up a lot of their class during ED, but I'd be surprised if the majority of their class was already filled.

Woudn't worry too much about it yet. There were quite a few interview invites that went out last week for people who submitted Jan 5th.

There's a backlog, it seems, but I wouldn't imagine them taking too much additional time to get back to you.

I'm curious, for those who have received interview invites, does the invitation come through phone call, email, or a change in application status?

It is a change in application status and requires you to log in online. Once you log in, all it says is something like "You've been selected for an interview and will be contacted within 24 hours via email with instructions on how to set it up."

Hey all. Should I just keep waiting? Contact adcomm about my status? Does that reflect poorly? Thanks.

I would suggest you just keeping waiting. My interview completed 1/24 and I still have not heard anything. I get the impression they're very busy right now getting through all the 1/5 apps.
