I went under review on Jan 13th and haven't heard a peep. Dying to know what's going on. Especially with all the really strong profiles getting dinged. It's a little unreal. After I submitted on Jan 5th, I read that Columbia's RD is like other schools' round 3, especially for those submitting in January. I didn't want to believe it at the time, but I'm definitely starting to think it's true.

Can you clarify what you mean by "especially for those submitting in January."? Do you think if someone submitted in January after 1/5, it could be more difficult than for someone who submits in February? If so, why?

He's not saying that. He's saying that people who submit after and including january face a bit of an uphill battle.

Yeah - it's frustrating but I think you're probably right. Oh well, at least my expectations seem to be reasonably pessimistic. Hopefully that will make any bad news easier to take.

Dinged on friday 25th w/o interview...damn that hurts.

I really wonder how much they care about diversity in class. I mean, how many entrepreneurs from Europe do they have applying, especially some with 710 GMAT and 118 TOEFL? I feel they care more about match than about diversity...

When I log in it says I am under review, but I never received the email notifying me of that. I submitted on 1/5 and haven't heard anything. Is there any way to check within your application status when you went under review?

I was dinged w/o an interview on Thursday and it REALLY hurts. It looks like I'll be 0 for 4 this application season. My only consolation is that my stats weren't even close to some of the other dinged profiles so I'm in good company!

How does CBS view reapplicants? I think I have 1 more application cycle left in me as I'm an "older" applicant (early 30's).

man whats going on this year at CBS is it usual for all these people with these sort of stats to get dinged? I'm glad i haven't heard anything yet, submitted 1/5 under rev 1/21 710/3.9

maybe they are going younger? or doing some kind of flip on who they are looking for like HBS did?

like i said im glad i didn't get dinged at all yet like alot of others but id really like to know whats going on haha

I don't know when my application but most likely Jan 26 since I did receive an automatic email on that day. I haven't heard anything from them. Looking at the applicants here it seems they won't consider me for interview :-(

Haha I threw a great pity party on Thursday night! Life does go on however and I believe I can be successful with a higher GMAT score early in the ED round.

I am convinced by all of these recent dings that the timing of your application makes a HUGE difference. My advice to reapplicants is either submit early decision or before Christmas (at the latest)!
