I think so. I don't think they want to get the feeling like you visited once and just got it out of the way. I think they want to see that you want to be there any chance you get.

If you have good interviewing skills I'd recommend making a second trip... but Kim told me it's totally fine to do interview locally with alum... especially if you've already seen the campus and spoken with students....

Two 400 word essays are really mean. But we have huge rooms (15,000 characters!!) in Extra Curriculum activities and two Recommendation Letters with unlimited length.

Anyway I'm saturated with the essays now. Man it's not easy at all even though I had all the ideas ready in the scrap book. I'm more excited with Recommendation letters where there is no constraint.

Will submit my package in 2 days time!

From the few applicants here, I've noticed those who applied at the deadline haven't heard a response yet. But Cornell saying that they're trying to get to the "remaining" R1 apps is prob not a good sign.

I agree, waiting sucks big time! I submitted my app Oct. 8th. My status changed to under review on Nov. 5th. Then today I got the interview invite. Now I'm desperately trying to figure out how I can get to Cornell and when.

For round 1 applicants the website says notification and scholarship notification are on Dec 7th. How does that work with the Park Fellowship? I thought finalists had to go to additional interviews which don't start until January. Also, my interview is scheduled for Dec. 3rd. That's cutting it a little close for them to notify me by the 7th. So, I guess my question is do they stick to that notification date and tell us if we're admitted and if we will receive a scholarship on Dec. 7th?

Never answered for round1. However, I submitted around 12:39AM on the deadline date of 10/10 and my status shows round1. If it's an issue, I would call the admissions office.

You have to submit before 3PM on the deadline day. (assuming the time is the same for all rounds - that's how it was for R1)

CORRECTION:

According to solidcolor:
Confirmed: 11.59pm Nov 14. (just made a phone call to the Admissions Office).
