Nothing tops the list than that email about some student's blog.....

Its hard to beat something as mean as that... and especially when the email said [email protected]....

I loved that email.

Especially because Randal Sawyer sent it himself. I read that and thought, holy &%&$&$, the Director emailed me personally and wants me to check out some blogs.

Given his obsession with the gmat, I would like to see him take the exam.... If I were a b-school dean, I'd force my adcom director to take the exam annually.

HA. I would love that. He's not the dean, right? He's the director of admissions.

I don't really care for the dean. I would want the director to take the exam.

Why do you say he has an obsession with the GMAT?

Oh..my...god...I got an interview invite from Cornell this morning!

You haven't heard much from me on this thread because even though I had applied, I really didn't think I had a shot. Cornell was my "very unlikely...but what the hell, let me give it a try" school. I am extremely flattered that they'd even want to interview me!!

Wish me luck!

Gut feeling when I met him. And his pronouncement that people with low quant scores often struggle with the core. My personal belief is that is pure bullshit. Fact is GMAT math has nothing to do with accounting math or finance math. B school math is much easier than gmat math.

Except for the slightly low GMAT, you are definitely in line with Cornell's expectations. Your interview invite is not at all a surprise.

Hi all. I'm thinking about applying to Cornell for R3. I haven't visited the campus yet and I'm planning to over the next week.

I live in Manhattan and don't drive. So far I see my options are either Greyhound or the C2C bus. C2C bus looks like the clear winner - campus drop off, wi-fi, leather seats... But it's at a costly $150 a pop for round trip! Does anyone has experience with these and can offer some suggestion?

Thanks for any help I can get.

I lived in Ithaca for 5 years until coming to Duke. Lots of people take the regular greyhound - from Port Authority to the bus station on the west end. That bus will also make a stop on campus, but unless you're going directly from the bus to your campus visit, you will probably be a hotel downtown anyway.

I wonder if R2 apps are up this year.

I'll rephrase that. I wonder how much R2 apps increased this year.

The unwritten conclusion I can get from this is that interivews don't really mean much.

At least not as much as Johnson makes it out to be.
