Based on what happened last year I'm not expecting anything until the day of release or maybe the day before...

I think that they're pretty strict about staying to their release dates.

Most acceptances were released no earlier than the evening before the official notification date last year. However, as I said earlier on the thread, some "dings" did go out a few weeks before the R1 notification date. So no news is good news, folks!

I just set up my interview for November 17th. Staying at the Statler Hotel is burning a huge hole in my pocket, but I don't want to take the chance of staying in a hotel 3 miles away and getting stuck in a freak snowstorm. If anyone else is going to be around on the 16th or the 17th, let me know.

Would anyone who stayed at the Statler (raabenb?) confirm there's wi-fi connectivity (free?) in the rooms? Thanks!

There is free internet via ethernet cable at the desk in the room. I dont think there is wi-fi though. If your comp has an ethernet connect you are good to go!

Just got the interview invite today. The problem is that I will be unable to make it to Ithaca for two weeks and I live only one hour away. Does anyone know how soon they expect you to schedule? Is two weeks bad?

First post here...submitted my app on 10/6, interview invite yesterday.

dghazer - I spoke to someone in admissions today and he said it doesn't matter when you schedule it for, as long as it's before some time around Dec 10th. I recommend calling soon, so you can get a day/time that works for you. I tried to schedule for next Monday and was told they are already booked, so I probably won't go until first week in Dec.

My interviewer explained the interview process. She said she had not seen my essays at all, just my resume, and that I should not hold back at all from discussing things covered in my essays. She also said that she had a sheet given to her from the two people who did read my essays with specific areas they would like her to cover in the interview....... and that is standard for all interviews....the reasoning is that it allows you to touch on areas that you may not have in your essays so they can get a more complete picture of the candidate.

Did anybody elses interviewer go into as much detail about the process before the interview began?
