Ok, I must retract my earlier statement. Now I can't seem to find where I saw Cornell "dings" going out before the R1 decision date. So everybody finds out December 16-17.

However, as I said earlier on the thread, some "dings" did go out a few weeks before the R1 notification date.

And congratulations ryguy904. That's 100% an interview invite coming your way. You flying in to Ithaca?

Did anyone get a "Johnson School in the News" email?

I came into work this morning to see an email from "Johnson School MBA" and my heart skipped a beat but it was just something about one of their Big Red Ventures companies being purchased. I mentioned being interested in that club in my interview so maybe that had something to do with it...

Last year a whole bunch of these random emails went out and gave everyone heart attacks for these few weeks... just curious if anyone else got one.

Dang, I was hoping that I could somehow read into it but I guess that's just wishful thinking =]

I hope that these emails don't become a flood soon because it's torturous seeing the sender being Johnson School and then having it be some random news... probably doubly torturous for those still waiting for invites

Had my Cornell interview last week and here is a review.

For AMBA program:
I flew in that day morning. The admissions representative in the office is a very nice guy and takes care of you as you show up. I did a class visit. It was a strategy class. The professor kept the class interactive. There was decent amount of cold calling. Overall, I liked the class. There was also a decent amount of humor that made the class fun. Students were very welcoming and they took the initiative to talk about the program.

The interview was non-conversational and driven by the interviewer.

1. short term and long term goals
2. leadership experience
3. why MBA
4. Any Q's for me?

Hi, Can you share with us some of your stats?

Also do you know how many AMBA applicants have gotten their interview invites?

Got an invite today..was starting to give up, seeing as how my app went under review on Oct 13th! Still hope out there guys....

One question, based on my work schedule, I might not be able to make it out until early December...any advantage to flying in earlier???

One of the things that makes this forum far superior to BW is the accuracy of the information that is posted here. Please be sure that you don't merely post random stats. The actual comment made by the Johnson adcom was:

We've sent out about 50% of the interview invitations to AMBA applicants so far.

sentiment was actually spot on.

Yes, interview calls for international Round 1 applicants are in progress. FYI, we've reviewed about 50% of the Round 1 applications.

They also said on that thread that the admit rate for those with invites was under 50%. Darn.
