Last year admit here. I believe everyone received a phone call. I know for me, a person from admissions called, let me know I'd be receiving a welcome packet in the mail, then a current student called also to congratulate.

Well it's going to be FedEx this year considering DHL just shut down its domestic US business. :P

Based on last year's thread you get a DHL/FedEx confirmation number if you're in and just a status check email if you're Dinged. I don't think it was consistent across the board though so it may be different this year.

I went under review on 23rd Oct. But i now realise it really does not matter when u go under review any more... I guess there is a 15 day definite review period but beyond tht it depends on how quickly ur app is read...quite a few people getting invites now have been under review for over 20 days..


guys I shall be scheduling my interview with an adcom (telephonic) or an alum (in person). Which is a better option ..any inputs?

Personally, if you can't get to Ithaca (which is obviously superior to either of the other options since you can show some Cornell love) I'd do the phone interview.

An alum interview can go very strangely from some of the stories I've heard and can go either really well or really poorly depending on who you get. It will either be really softball and nice or could become confrontational and weird. (This is based on some of the interview debriefs I've read over at accepted.com)

With the phone interview I think you're getting more of a known quantity by talking with the adcom member. I'm also much less nervous over the phone and would have loved to do a phone interview if I didn't live so close to Ithaca.... but that's just personal taste.

If you are really good at talking in person I'd go with that option if you're sure that you'll blow your interviewer away with how awesome your are. Just be prepared for anything that the alum will throw at you... either way I'm sure you'll do fine.

I know this was asked earlier, but it went unanswered so I'll ask again. Does anyone know what time the application is due on 11/17? I can't find any deadline times on their website. I'm assuming this means its due at 11:59PM, but I was just curious if anyone else knew.
