Does anyone know if the adcom made calls last year? Or were current students involved, as well?

If current students were involved, I know that first years are presenting their integrative case today. Not sure if that has any effect on anything, but I'm all for rampant speculation at this point! 8-)

I'll be watching this thread like a hawk for the next two days. In several instances last year, the adcom officer who interviewed you called to inform you of your acceptance. Other folks who interviewed with alumni also received calls from adcom officers. However, students may be calling too. Who knows.

I will be surprised if anyone hears today. :)

I don't know, Sol. The way things seemed to have gotten screwed up last year, I'd think they would want to give themselves some lead time to make sure they call everyone before the notifications go out and/or they recieve FedEx notices. If they don't call today, it only gives them one day to call everyone before the notifications go live.

so we are all now officially in the speculation mode !!!

I personally know few ppl who will be interviewed by adcom today(so there will be more).

But without complete data, how can adcom decide the final list, or scholarship to be gien out ? This is because the final interview results etc would be out only say/today. Infact, my intervewer called up this morning to confirm a couple of things before he submits his feedback today(int on 22Nov).

How do they do finalize the set so soon? Is it like, if the interviewer says YES, and you are in? That would mean interviews are REALLY important in this case ...

I'm fairly sure that the adcom has the majority of their decisions made and that they are just doing a really final review to make sure no one they really want slips through the cracks.

They probably have more than enough "accepts" in their pile to begin making calls today even if they don't have their list completely finalized. I'm not sure that they would want to wait to have every single data point.

Of course, I'm probably wrong, but we'll see how the rest of the day goes for everyone...

For the sake of our collective sanities, I hope you two are right cereal255 and dharmabum. Last year, as everyone knows, calls went out 1 day before notification was due. Keep in mind the system issues starting showing up only on the notification date itself.

I'm trying to look up the 2006-07 threads to reconfirm how early calls went out that year, but I think historically (or at least in recent years) Cornell has never started issuing admissions decisions more than a day before the actual notification date. Someone with a few minutes to spare today, please join me in looking up whether the R1 notification date for the 2006-07 application season was November 17. :idea:

Yes, I'm just trying to feed the speculation further. :-D

I saw that too, LeftOut. But I don't think that's right.
According to my "research," the earliest R1 admits in 2006 came November 16-17 (including that of our very own rhyme).
