Idk unless they are taking all international candidates. Most of the admits I think I counted 10 or 11 all but 2 were international. Unless only internationals use this forum. I don't know but yes it does seem odd that no calls went out today. That being said last year it took a few days to get through round 1 admit calls so it seems unlikely that they finish all round 1 admit calls in one day; or maybe I am just being optimistic?

Hi Chambax,

Glückwunsch zur Zulassung. Not many German candidates at the Cornell thread, did you interview by phone or alumni and how strong is the German alumni network over there? I hardly saw Germans at Johnson or are you a US expat based in Germany? Good on you with scholarship, can you imagine to go to a German retail bank and ask for a $70000 loan for 1st year expenditures.

Yes I am from Singapore. I received my call at 11+ pm (Singapore time) on Thursday night, which would be 10+ am EST on Thursday morning for you. The caller did apologise for calling so late, but I assured her that I would be most happy to take her call at any time even if it is in the middle of the night. And I guess this might pretty much be the case for almost everybody.

Got an admit this afternoon (i am on the east coast). When the phone rang from an "Unknown Caller" I started celebrating even before i knew who was calling... turns out it was Randall

Spoke briefly for 30seconds, told me i got in. No word on scholarship though... apparently I will be getting the admit packet in the mail next week.

I dont think there is any pattern to who gets called when. You will get called when they are ready to call you - whether you are in the US or on some exotic island.

Nothing "out of this world" in my profile...without disclosing all the details, here is a snapshot: Low 700 GMAT, 3.4+GPA from a decent school in the US, around 4 yrs WE, average interview, decent recos, with an IT background. I didnt manage 100 people, or win patents or get some national awards.... But i absolutely poured my heart into the essays, especially Essay 3, which I believe did the trick for me. I highlighed my volunteer activities in Essay 3 and thus showcased my leadership potential. Amazing what strong essays can do for you....

Good Luck to everyone else waiting to hear. I think if you put in the hard yards in your application & essays, you will get in.

I also got a call from Cornell on Thursday(16th) around 12:30pm EST. She said I was the first person to call from Round 1 applicants. I wonder if she said this to others too.

I didn't know they gave out calls to those admitted before the notification deadline, so at first I thought there was something wrong with my application. And then when she said "you probably know why we're calling", I litterally collapsed to the ground.

I'm an international applicant and I have a very low profile overall, with very low sub 3 GPA and average GMAT of just over 700. But having a strong overall package seemed to have paid off. I'm a re-applicant and I would recommend to all international Round 3 applicants or wait listed applicants to visit the Johnson School, not just to show your commitment, but to really come back knowing what the school is like.

Good luck to everyone waiting to hear, and to round 3 applicants. Remember, it's not just the GPA or the GMAT that matters.

Any Idea when are the interview calls going to come for R2 Applicants.?

I know that 3-4 people here have got interview calls but I don't see a bulk of calls coming.
Any idea when are they expected

I'd say there is still a 25% chance to get a call on Monday. If we don't get a call by evening , I guess we can call quits on Johnson and go on with our life.

I don't think I can handle 2 dings in a row- and just 3-4 days after Tuck! getting dings from my 2 best applications... it will be really discouraging!
I'll be desperately waiting for that "private number" to call me on Monday... best of luck to everyone else out there-

You have a good background (different from IT), GMAT and academic performance. You stand a decent chance even in R3 at Cornell. Also, the parameters listed don't contribute a lot in the final decisions as much as your essays, recommendations and interview do. The key here would be to submit good essays & great recommendations and then nail the interview.

They told you about your scholarship on the phone along with your admit? Is that 20K/year or over 2 years? Either way, that is terrific!

Has any other admitted student heard about the scholarship amount at the time of the admit call? I was under the impression they inform scholarship decisions a week or two after admit result...
