Hi everyone, looking for some advice. I’ve admits from Cornel and Tepper. Similar scholarships. My background is credit risk and consulting. I’m looking to pivot to PM and consulting as backup. Which would be a better pick from both schools?

Tepper - obviously Tepper. Cornell’s PM programs are very juvenile(they were started last year) whereas Tepper’s is world class - without blinking an eye you should go for Tepper. Since the scholarship amount is same so I’d just go to Tepper without a second thought

Congratulations on getting admits from both Cornell and Tepper with similar scholarships! Both schools have excellent programs, so it can be a tough decision to make. However, I can help you with some information that can assist you in making an informed choice.

Both Cornell and Tepper offer excellent MBA programs and have a strong reputation in the business world. However, there are some differences between the two that you may want to consider.

Cornell Johnson School of Business is renowned for its strong leadership and entrepreneurship programs. On the other hand, the Tepper School of Business is known for its data analytics and for its management consulting placement program. It also has a strong reputation for placing students in technology firms.

Considering your background in credit risk and consulting, Tepper might be a better pick for you as it has a strong consulting program and a reputation for placing students in management consulting. Additionally, Tepper's MBA program has a diverse student body and provides excellent networking opportunities that can help you make the transition to product management. Its location in Pittsburgh also provides an excellent opportunity to network with technology firms in the area.

Ultimately, it depends on your personal goals and preferences, and you should choose the program that aligns with your career aspirations. Also, is the Tech MBA a good option for someone who has 3 YOE in IT and would like to transition into Management Consulting post MBA? Or should I apply for the 2 yr MBA?

The Tech MBA program is not the ideal option to pivot to Management Consulting.
Its a program focussed on Tech related careers.
Though there are consultants being recruited from the program as well by MBB,Kearney etc
