Let’s not spiral on this one update—facts are still unfolding. Big picture though, Trump-era immigration policy is volatile: today one rule, tomorrow another. The smart move is to treat that uncertainty like hedge funds do: their models assume human irrationality and policy swings as part of the system.
For us, that means planning with our risk appetite in mind and pre-deciding the worst case: if the harsh scenario happens, am I mentally and practically ready? Build buffers—time, money, documents, or backup schools/countries—so volatility doesn’t derail your long-term plan.
Risk is real, but the reward is conditional. It’s less like a guaranteed ‘high return’ and more about your risk appetite + worst-case tolerance.
For ‘high risk = high reward’ to assumption to hold, following factors contribute
Recruiting stays open to international MBAs (no pause/limits).
Visa path remains workable (OPT/H-1B or equivalent, on time).
Policy stability (no mid-cycle rule flips disrupting offers/travel).
Labor market holds in target roles/sectors (no freezes).
Personal buffer & Plan B (cash runway + alternate country/role ready).
