This makes me think all R1 decisions have been made, but instead of letting us know they will make us sweat it out for 8 more days

Making some analysis from last year's thread, ~80% of GClubers were invited. If that was the case, Darden is either cutting down on the people they are interviewing, or GClubers' quality compared with the rest of the pool is dropping.

Nope.

Looks like Darden releases interview dates pretty slowly. When I checked today, only Feb 8, 9, and 15 were available.

I just checked my application status and it still says "Application Submitted". But then, I am an international applicant and Darden sends out invites for internationals pretty late.

Guys, R1 applicant here. I got an interview invite and my application status never changed, in fact even after the interview it still only says Application Submitted. Take a breather everyone, these statuses clearly don't mean anything.

This question might be answered elsewhere on this forum, but is there a correlation between how soon you receive an interview invite after the submission deadline and acceptance rates? I'm curious if more qualified candidates are interviewed firstl

I'm actually from Toronto Canada as well and haven't heard anything. After 1 day of invites I wouldn't be too worried. I hate to assume but I would imagine internation applicants will be notified separately.

Thanks hogann. Based on R1, international should lag us applicants by 1-2 wks. I, however, still couldn't resist asking anyways as the wait is really painful:-(

I hear you on that - every email I have received at work today I have quickly checked to see if it was from Darden. I'm going to be a wreck in 1-2 weeks.

Has anybody heard how the application volume of round 1 compared to last year at Darden? I'm wondering if this year is a more competitive year.

Based on her interview last year, she doesn't send out interview invite herself. Other adcom do that and Sara took a final look after the interview to decide admit or ding or wl.

I got an invite 2 days ago, and I'm international.

I'm scheduled to go to campus this Friday for an interview. I visited the school 2 weeks ago, when classes were not in session, and I was told by a few students, who were just hanging out, that apps are up 30-35% this year. Is the quality better? I'm not sure. But the numbers are higher. I have also heard that they've sent out 50% of the invites so far for R2, so there's still a lot of spaces left.

In the past, Darden hasn't received a TON of apps, so the increase shouldn't add THAT many more apps, but it will certainly make it more difficult.

PS. my status never changed either.
