Right...I'm wondering how the tail end is going to work. First round they left the door open saying they were going to invite people up to the decision date. Are they going to have a similar strategy for round 2? Above it seems that she is saying (at the time, towards the end of Feb) that almost all invites had gone out.

Just wondering.. did you guys receive any email from the school confirming that your application is complete or something to that effect? I am a R2 applicant and haven't heard anything since submitting my application.

Not really. I believe I received a confirmation of my payment from the school but that was it.

It never does, but people ask this all the time for every school. 99.9% of the time it's random with the exception of those few random one-offs towards the end.

Right, so I'm a R1 applicant who stillllll hasn't received a decision from Darden. No waitlist, no update, nadda. I've emailed twice in the past week and have received the same "your application is currently with our director" response. At this point, all I'm left to do is speculate what's going on...

A) My application was so mind-blowing that they called a week-long meeting to create a new scholarship/fellowship worthy of my 7-page masterpiece. One week later, no amount of money seems enough.

B) My application was so pathetic that they decided to pass it around to everyone in the office for a good laugh. During this process, one of the student ambassadors picked it up and, shocked by the sheer display of ineptitude, decided to write a piece in the CCC entitled "The 100 worst mistakes on an application...ever".

C) Simplicity's new system devoured my application and $200.


Any thoughts?

:lol: ... I missed the date at the first glance, and went all apesh*t. Guess I have another 2-3 weeks before I start freaking out ( but i'm going nuts already :( ).

I didn't see my name on the Round 2 roll call, but I applied and received an interview invitation yesterday!

Very excited to travel to Charlottesville. I have several friends up there right now, and they all LOVE it.

Man, that is crazy. Have you tried to call? Maybe if you to talk to someone instead of email, they will realize that there is a person on the other end (who is most likey going nuts). I'd give them a call next week. End the end, I guess its best to stay polite and patient. Good luck.

I was thinking of the same thing today, and was about to email admissions to find out, but I figure that its the same address where we send our deposit to.

Im planning on sending the deposit, the I-20 request form and the transcripts in all at the same time.

Good call on the same address. I suppose they'd figure it out even if its not the right address. How about the picture requirement? Are you having it professionally done? What kind of background should it be? I don't even remember what the pictures in the hallway looked like...

Since I interviewed 3 weeks ago, I hope my memory's accurate. If I remember correctly, they were black and white photos with plain backgrounds. I'm not getting mine professionally done fwiw.

I'd been lurking for a bit, but since I finally made an account, I wanted to address this. I got an interview invite 2.5 weeks before the deadline and interviewed on the Friday before R1 decisions were released. Maybe I'm an exception rather than the rule, but I did get accepted. Don't give up hope until the deadline is upon you.

R1 applicant here. I received my interview invitation on Jan 11 to interview on Jan 22. I was out of the country so I could not make it to Charlottesville on the 22nd. We rescheduled for the 25th and I was warned that my notification might be late. I got the call on Wednesday just as expected. So they do interview right through the rounds--don't give up hope!
