Yep, its that weekend. If you go into the Darden Portal, and click the link that says 'Darden Days', the event date is displayed, and its indicated that registration will be available in early April.

Speaking of which, I called up the Sponsors Executive Residence to inquire about pricing, but unfortunately the person who helped me indicated that she wasnt aware of any special rates for that event. Was told to call back this morning, but completely forgot about it :)

Don't know if the rate would be the same, but when I scheduled my interview and booked at the Sponsors Residence the "special" rate was $85.

You should check out the Cavalier Inn. It's definitely not fancy at all, but close to campus and cheap.

I'm visiting for the law school and they put me up in the Cavalier Inn. Looks ok. It's right on campus which is awesome.

On the topic of financial aid, have any of my fellow international peeps figured out the whole Request for I-20 form yet ? Is the $72K amount that youre supposed to prove per year, or total ? And how's everyone going about figuring out how much money they need to borrow ?

TheDream, based on last year's figure, I think 72K is for one year. I am working with my banks to get other certificates and stuff. I guess in some place of the school website says that the number you need to borrow should be indicated on the Request for I20, so I am trying to work out my exact numbers.

The tuition has definitely been increased this year, btw. :( :(

Thanks for the update. Where did you see the new tuition #s, by the way ? Here's what I dont get though ... youre supposed to let Darden know how much money you want to borrow, without really knowing details of their financial plan. They mention that they'll only send you this info once you submit your initial deposit (the March 12th deposit). I hope that they arent taking the amount we are asking to borrow literally, as it may change ...

Oh, I did get an email from Financial Aid today, so I will be giving them a call to get some of my questions answered.

Well, I did get an email from Miss Mills. She said info about financial aid will be released in next two MONTHS, and all admitted students will be emailed. And she suggested not sending the Request for I20 along with the 1,000 deposit. So I guess it will still take a while to get it settled.

Just wanted to add that I went up to Charlottesville last Friday to interview. It was my favorite interview among all thus far (darden, booth, kellogg, unc, duke) however I really wish I could have gone to a class. Can anyone share their experience from a class visit? Particularly I'm curious what guests thought of the overall caliber of students (in asking questions, answers, etc.), energy in the classroom and quality of the teaching. Best of luck to everyone.

I had my interview last week as well, and I'd say it was my favorite mostly because I thought I performed the best; it was also quite informal. As far as the class visit, yeah the energy was there I suppose, and the students were intelligent in their questions and answers, etc., but it really wasn't different from any other "case method" class visit I've done at other schools. You'd probably have to visit more than a few classes at each school (different subject, different times in the semester, etc.) to get a real feel for how the schools compare.

Personally, I'm trying to take a holistic view with these schools just as they claim to do with my application. The Darden class visit was quality, students were very friendly, and everything else was in line with my high expectations. I'm trying not to compare too much with my other options until I know for sure which schools I've been admitted to.

Ahh so frustrating. Darden is by far my top choice but it doesn't seem like I'll get the interview. Does anyone have any tips on corresponding with the Darden office or should I just take my licks as it seems domestic interview invites have tapered off? Getting into this program is quite important to me...

We got a note from FinAid office along with our official Admit package that outlined any packages. Unfortunately, I got nada except a nice resume portfolio which I'll definitely take!
