2 Questions:

1). Has anyone's deposit check been cashed yet? I sent mine via FedEx early last week and it says it was received by Darden last Tuesday but still hasn't been cashed...

2). Has anyone received their SIS log in information? I heard we were supposed to receive these at the end of February and I never received it.

Yes, I got that.
But, what is the start date at Darden ? and do they have any pre-MBA crash course before the semester starts ?

August 15 is the start date. There are pre-matriculation courses offered, but they're not posted until later in the spring.

I am confused. How is Consortium process different? It seems like people get accepted without the interview. I thought Darden claims to have interviewed all accepted students. Any insight on this?

As part of the Consortium application, there is an interview component which Darden accepts as their interview regardless of whether it was conducted at Darden or not. The interview is fairly standard and if they didn't get the info they need to make a decision, they will invite for a separate interview which they reserve the right to do.

Does anyone have a sense for how competitive R3 is for Darden vs. rounds 1 and 2? I'm pretty nervous about not getting in to any of the 3 schools I have left and I nearly applied to Darden over Duke anyways. I've got so much written already for other schools that it would be relatively easy to submit an application for R3...but I don't want to waste more of my recommenders' time...

Any insight would be appreciated.

If anyone is considering R3 out there, I contacted the office to find out their attitude towards R3. The feedback I got is that a decent number of people get admitted R3 but that it's important to explain why you waited for R3 to apply (you should note this in the optional section).

I'm still undecided on applying.

i wouldn't be too stressed that you only got your invite a few days before decision date... same thing happened to me, and i actually got interviewed shortly before deadline, and still got in R1. so it's still possible to get in despite that.

on another note, on my application, it now says: we have received your deposit, etc etc...

still waiting on one other school, but Darden is right there on my list.

I withdrew for Duke. A part of me wanted to go to Darden but ended up choosing Duke over it because of the healthcare program and logistics with my girlfriend (her company has a branch in RDU). Without those factors, this would have been a much tougher choice. It didn't help that I met a kid who was graduating from UVA this year a few weeks ago at a party. Kid was a blast to hang out with and had really, really good things to go say about the school. Started to sway me but I couldn't tell the GF, "Bill said Darden was great. BTW, find a new job."

A decent part of me is jealous of those who end up at Darden. Have fun on the course in two years...
