Yes, there is hope. Darden has indicated that interview invites go up until the deadline, so technically there is hope, especially for internationals. I checked last year's discussion and invites were reported until March 17 (decision deadline March 26, 2010).

Yes, there is hope. Darden has indicated that interview invites go up until the deadline, so technically there is hope, especially for internationals. I checked last year's discussion and invites were reported until March 17 (decision deadline March 26, 2010).

I rcvd my invite last night.. So, thr is hope for everybody.. btw, HOW TO SCHEDULE INTERVIEW (SKYPE) ON THR SYSTEM.??? I mean I am trying all possible search criteria but havent rcvd any available dates for any.. Can someone plz help with this>>>?????

got an invite.. Indian based applicant.. can someone plz share Skype interview experience??? Is it a video interview or only an audio one??? Will it be blind???

They did not specify that it would be a video interview, but I turned on the video as soon as the call started and that prompted the interviewer to do the same. It will be a blind interview, the interviewer may have your resume, but definitely has not gone through your application.
My interview lasted for exactly 30 mins inclusive of my question time.

I tried so many combinations but not getting any available dates.. thought it cud be chrome thing but even IE gave same problem.. so either I am not entering a sensible search criteria or possiubly something is wrong.. if u can tell me wht criteria u tried maybe I can try the same and see if it works for me.. else I will be calling tech team soon..

BTW, the email said that someone would contact me within the next 10 days to schedule an interview. There was no mention of whether that would be over skype or face-to-face.

People who got skype invites, can you please tell me if they mentioned that in the first invite mail itself?

Congratulations!!! I believe what you got is the generic email for i-view invitations for internationals. I got the same one and it did not meantion any details. Once you get invited they try to place the alumni somewhere close to you for an interview (if any). If no such are available, then they proceed with the skype interview. Their top choice however, is to try to find someone to conduct a face-to-face i-view. GOOD LUCK!

Completely tangential questions. Obama in his budget apparently plans to pass some bill that triggers interest for student loans from the moment you start your course. Does this affect international students? Any insights from G clubbers?

Personally speaking, I really don't think student satisfaction will change the number of applications dramatically (either upward spike or downward trend). I think once you get to the top b-schools, more focuses are set on ranking, career opportunities, prestige and brand. Don't get me wrong though - I'm darn happy about Darden's ranking, whether it is in student satisfaction or its professorship. But I think these other rankings are really made to provide additional datapoints for laypeople to understand how Darden compares to other business schools.
