I'm sorry to hear that :( I hope the rest of your apps go better, it's definitely been a hard couple of years for MBA admissions with the recession, and more people going back to school

Hopefully no offense, but could you post a post-mortem of sorts? gmats and gpa, perhaps, to give some feedback of their decisions?

Again, sorry to hear this, and good luck for the rest!

I dont feel confident about Ross as well, I have not received an interview invite from them. At this point, I am really not sure what kind of schools I should be applying to for R2, I don't know how high or low to aim at. With my confidence taking some beating, I am thinking about UC Irvine or schools outside the Top 50, but then again, I dont want to miss out on getting into a better program. But I am somewhat lost at the moment.

I think you can do top 50 definitely....it's the top 15 that's really just hard for all but a few. I've heard from GW (safety-safety school) and, they offered 75% fellowship, so all hope isn't lost! I'm also think UMD as a good mid-safety. They're surprisingly high in the rankings (higher than I thought at 1st)

Yes, it is very important how I take this failure. I am trying to keep my spirits up!

@kevintay,
How do you rate NUS ? Now that I have received two US dings, I feel the need to take a look at a few lower tier schools too. You are from Singapore, how do you rate NUS ?

I would give anything to be in your position, you got into Tuck!! Awesome man, congrats. I think I met you at the Darden open house, in the main classroom for Sara Neher's talk if you remember.

Just goes to show how getting into business school can be a bit subjective. One school lets you in others knock you out. To all those with Dings, don't worry about it and get going on those R2 apps. There is still plenty of time to get into a good school.

There are only two interview slots remaining, and they are both on the morning of January 7th. I'm going to be traveling for business that day. Did anyone here have a similar experience? I'm located within the US and won't be able to be in Charlottesville that day.

i was in the same position here. called them and they set me up something on another day that week (just know that it can't be after the 7th, it has to be before).

they've very nice in helping to coordinate a class visit and a tour and a meet with students for you, too! love darden thus far.

Hi Friends!

Though everyone is concerned about the second essay question,I need a little help on the first essay.
Is it enough to include only two examples in this essay or should I also mention explicitly as to how I am going to contribute to Darden.
Any insights would be highyl appreciated.

Oh yeah, I visited Darden in Sep and Sara Neher addressed us! Great that you remembered!

I must agree that getting into biz school is indeed sth which I (and i guess many others) can't really comprehend. I'm really clueless about how they shortlist and appreciate candidates. I was hoping to get at least an interview, but I guess Darden finds my profile unattractive. I did put in a lot of effort for the Darden application though, especially after visiting Darden. I'm really impressed with the way the classes are conducted, DYNAMIC! and enough has been said about the gorgeous UVA campus! But I'm glad I got into Tuck, my dream school!

All the best to everybody in your MBA pursuit!
