I would just do it. If you are serious about b-school whats spending the day at the school really going to cost you in the long run? But an easy way out without really looking bad is flight schedules. If the best flight ends up preventing you from spending the day there, I think you have an excuse that cannot impact your ability to attend negatively. Darden is pretty big on fit, so I would do what I could to show that I fit in there and I want to be there for the next 2 years.

I received my invitation to interview via Skype on Monday, Nov 7. Just to confirm with others who have used the scheduling system, the interview times listed are all in Virginia time (Eastern Standard Time), correct? I am in Shanghai, so getting the timing right for this is crucial, I don't want to be stuck doing my interview at 3AM on a Tuesday night!

Has any international candidate had his/her interview so far? Still waiting for a call, but reading up on interview experiences helps bide this time.

Hi , I'm from India and i have received my Interview invite (via Skype) at 4PM EST.I will be travelling to the US during the last week of Nov for work reasons and will be in SF till the end of Dec. Should i request the admissions office for a face to face interview during this time or would it be better to schedule the Skype interview ? Does a face to face interview have better chances of admission ? Thanks in Advance.
