In for R2. Quick question: Does anyone definitively know if Darden offers merit financial assistance for R1 applicants alone?

That's what I am using it for. Just a note to tell why I am not taking recommendation from my current work.

Hello everyone,

I just want to sure that the "Additional Comments" box in the "Declarations" section of the app is intended to be Darden's optional essay. Is this correct?

Thank you!

Right there with you. Thanks!

I was confused too, so I asked admissions last month about this. They said it was the range of possible GPAs at your school. So for you between 0 and 4.0 is correct.

Hi,
I am confused about GPA min and max field in the Darden application. Are they asking for GPA min and max in my transcripts for semesters or GPA min and max in regards to university's grading system. Wouldn't that be 0 and 4.0 then?
Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Application submitted. I can breathe now! ..I think the waiting period is actually more difficult that the application work.

It looks like I stand corrected. In either case, my transcript tells a more detailed account than simply responding high and low with numbers.

Did anyone else notice in print preview that under Employment, the Duties section turns all apostrophes into these things: ’

I have changed fonts several times, but still can't figure out how to make the apostrophes come through correctly. It only happens in this section. If it's a glitch, maybe it has happened to everyone.

I'm submitting in 10 minutes regardless.

After finalizing my application, I paid the application fee by master card and proceeded to final review. Except that the submit button never went live and is not letting me submit my application.

I paid 3 times, each time getting an "Order Confirmation" e-mail from a virginia.edu address confirming payment. Still no submit button.

Anyone else having this problem?

I talked to my admissions contact today and she said just to leave it blank. They likely realize it is confusing and will just ignore it. Like you said, they'll look at the transcripts if they have questions.

Hi bakfed,
Thanks for all the help till now.. Generally how much is the gap between interview notification and actual interview? Also, any tips on how to start preparing for the interview, now..

I can guarantee you that there's no set time between interview notification and actual interview. What will happen is when you are notified to interview, you will log onto simplicity and choose an available date. Sometime there may be 2 dates, sometimes 4 dates, depending on situations (I made up the numbers of date). The dates could be as fast as next week, or a week before result comes out. So there's no set time for it.

In terms of preparing for Darden interview, Darden chooses to utilize more of a conversation than a Q&A interview. The famous "Tell me about yourself" question is still a good way to start prepping for your interview. Make sure you understand your life (as weird as that sounds) and can explain it succintly. So a good way to practice is to start jotting down what you think are important events in your life and start thinking about how you can elaborate on it. Questions such as why you chose a certain college or a certain degree are all fair game. Another thing is to really understand your resume. Make sure you are able to speak of your resume pretty confidently. Obviously, if it's something you did or accomplished, it should be easy to speak of it. Lastly, have a few good questions in mind. At the end, chances are your interviewer will ask if you have any questions. This is your time to ask any lingering questions that you may have about Darden, the school itself, the program, etc. Granted the questions should require more thinking than just a web-search on Darden's site. (Example of a bad question: how long is the program) Those are some major points that I would recommend.

An example of my interview (or my recollection of it): I sat down and chit-chatted for a brief minute about the day, the plane ride, and such. Then the interviewer asked me "tell me about yourself". So I started from what I believe is important and that is the beginning of my college years. Throughout my conversation with her, she probed for more information when she wishes to understand a bit more. Before I knew it, it was done. But that's only because I've practiced how I would like to discuss about my life.

submitted last night. Had a nail biting finish, kept going back to my essay and changing it until the last minute .... phew ....

Now have a question about interviews. For US residents, DARDEN only allows on campus interviews (unless u r on active millitary duty or something). Although am a US resident but what happens if when the invite comes I am out of the country (leisure or work) and am not able to come back within the interview deadline in March. Does anyone knows if adcom would be allow a Skype interview in such case.

As the interview window is too big, I dont think I can postpone my travel plan until end of march.

Thanks in advance.
