@noclue9454: Exactly. I never understood the term 'fit' before I visited Fuqua. Fortunately for me, I felt the same way at Berkeley.

Unfortunately, it really could come at any time. If I were you I would expect to hear something between noon and 5:00 p.m. EST.

I looked in my inbox and it looks like I received an email from Fuqua at 2:37 p.m. on 1/31 for R1. I hope that helps.

Now, that is the way to let people know decisions. Yeah, I'm talking to you, adcoms. Treating everyone equally and letting them now how and when they will hear is way better than making people refresh pages and stare at their phones for weeks on end.

Personally, I think calling admitted applicants is a nice touch...but only if I'm one of those receiving a call.

Thanks for sharing this mnes. I consulted the admission's office and was told there's no set date and you can get a decision has late as the first day of class! I wonder if that actually happens though! During my visit to Duke, I was also told that most WL candidates are considered during Round 3 and the summer months since Round 2 is already quite competitive.

This definitely happens...I feel like I remember a story of someone finding out the night before school started & driving all night to get there. I know someone that was admitted a couple of days before school started and that person matriculated.



Would such late intimation be problematic for international students since they have visa issues to deal with before matriculation....

i agree...if you're getting a call, then its a nice touch...but very intimidating for someone who does not get the call....the uncertainity is really bad...

I agree- remember my last time- I mean what do they do between 9am and 2.37pm? still trying to decide who to admit? :D
