I would agree with this completely. So much luck goes into it. They have an idea of what they want in a class and you may just not fit that exact thing. I also got the feeling that essays are really important at Duke. I got dinged from Booth and I felt that they cared much more about high GMAT and GPA then who I was. Duke is a much better fit for me anyway. Here goes nothing!

Invited to interview in Durham, NC. I'm looking forward to checking out the campus, I've heard great things about the area.
Does anyone know roughly the percentage of people invited to interview who are accepted? I think I was told 60%, but I'm not sure.
For those of you who didn't receive an invite, I know this may not come as much comfort, but the email I received (and presumably you received too) also said this:
"If you have been waitlisted or have not been invited, please note that this is not a final decision on your application. The interview invitation is highly selective. It is possible that you would be invited to interview at a later stage in this round or in future rounds. If your interview status should change, our office will notify you directly."

I also applied in R1. Just got the interview invite from them today...!! Really excited. Still have to schedule it, so I dont know whether its gonna be an alumni or a current student. Will keep you posted....
