Invited. I visited back in October but wasn't quite ready for an interview yet. I think I'm going to head back down to interview because I hear that these "Super Saturday" style interview days are a good chance to meet a lot of students and other prospectives all at the same time. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Ross's 'Super Saturday' was a very good experience for me - you're right in that you get to meet a lot of current students and other prospectives. The other additional bonus is that you also get to meet members of the adcom. My interviewer at Ross took me over to meet two of the Associate Directors, and I spent about 7- 10 minutes talking to each. I assume that Fuqua has a similar program, since their on-campus interviews are largely over the weekend. In addition to you falling in love with Durham and the Triangle area, they also want to use the opportunity to have as many people on and connected to the adcom get to know you and recommend whether or not you'd be a good candidate for the school.

Based on my open interview experience, you definitely meet a good number of current students. I would say I interacted with about 10 or so during the events of the day. Also if there are events going on that night, they encourage you to go out and attend. I went to meet up a bunch of folks at a bar with my buddy who goes there now. Pretty fun time.

The one thing that is different from the Ross example above, is that I did not meet a single person that was not a student. The open interviews at least are entirely student run and I would assume the invite based interviews on campus are extremely similar. Either way the experience is worthwhile and the campus is gorgeous.

Good luck to everyone interviewing in the next few weeks!

I was just about to post about my experience, but rgupta83 beat me to it. rgupta83 and I had our interviews on the same day, so there's really not much else to say. :)

I think going down for the interview makes a lot of sense, both in terms of demonstrating actual interest, and in terms of seeing for yourself if you like the school/community/etc.

I was actually a Duke undergrad, so if anybody would like advice about places to stay/things to see, feel free to get in touch. Email is nyc3637 at g-mail dot com...

It's up to you. If you feel like you have gotten a good sense of the culture, then you don't need that extra exposure. I wouldn't worry too much about demonstrating interest, since you have already visited campus. However, if Fuqua is your top choice, and you want to leave absolutely no doubt that you have strong interest, coming down for the interview again will certainly help you make the case.

Anyways, congrats on the invite, and good luck on the interview. Make sure you are adequately prepared for the interview. I believe the "Why Fuqua" question always comes up, and the "tell me about a time when you demonstrated teamwork". And make sure you pronounce Fuqua correctly.

I did at 11:25 PT for an interview in San Francisco. Not sure about other locations though.

If you check StubHub, they're selling tickets for that game starting at $325! I am definitely doing Campout Weekend next year because I am not paying that much to watch a game. :D

If you know a current student, you can probably easily wrangle up a ticket. Duke basketball is something to be experience. Kinda like Texas football.

Is that really how is it is? Don't three or four students share a season pass or something... so the ticket for a particular game would have to go through three or four people before it becomes available to anybody else?

Yes, please give us the low down on basketball! Do you really have to camp out like a maniac just to get a ticket?
