For EA - You should be able to log into your dashboard for executive assessment and add schools you would like to share your results with from there. The executive assessment website is not particularly clear about the specifics however. But you should not need to contact the support. You should be able to initiate the process from within your dashboard.

Priyanka1983 - Unfortunately, the dashboard doesnt have any status of whether or not the score was sent, so leaves things very ambiguous. Can the system be relied upon to send your schools as long as the school is chosen in the dashboard?

Thanks

I found this chat group isn’t active since 2 months ago, I just want to share my test prep experience and hope this can help anyone who is going to take EA soon. I started the prep at end of August, and I took EA at mid November. I took entire September and around 20 days in October to go through TTP materials for EA, and went through all chapters to learn concepts and took all chapter questions and reviewed errors carefully. During this time I didn’t do any official practice questions, and just focused on learning the concepts since I feel that my foundation is weak especially on verbal side. Though I have a master degree from one of the STEM major, I haven’t done quantitative questions like the ones in EA for more than 10 years and need lot of practice to ensure answering questions within 2min. I think TTP helped me significantly to learn the concept, some chapters are overly extensive and become tough to sit through and do more than 20-30 sets of chapter questions, but with the mixed verbal and quantitative chapters learning, it was not too bad. In last two weeks of preparation, I started doing official practice questions, and also doing a review of the verbal concepts again using TTP courses. In last week, I did 4 practice exams, and trying to tie some of the loose ends. For anyone who is not sure about whether to use TTP (or other materials) on top of official questions, I think using TTP definitely helped me. Though official questions are closer to actual questions, in verbal questions, at least I found many many answers aren’t really quite make sense to me, while using concepts learnt in TTP courses helped me to root cause problem and analyze questions to come up the reasoning behind the answers.

Hi All, I noticed this is the only active EA thread. Yesterday I gave EA and score 152(IR 12, VR 9, QR 11). I’ve got 17 years of experience and my target courses are MSx of GSB and Sloan Fellow from MIT. Appreciate if someone could advise if this is a good score for these schools?

Thanks in advance.

Hi all. I was actually preparing for GMAT through egmat and around mid way I got to know about the EA as well. Didn’t prepare specifically for it but as someone has mentioned above, the syllabus is overlapping except sentence contraction. Scheduled GMAT on Saturday and EA on Monday. Didn’t do as expected in gmat. But got a 163 (DI12, V13 & Q18) on the EA test. I think I’ll go ahead with this score now since it seems above average/median for the ones who have reported.

Congratulations! That is a great score! Anything above 155 is usually solid.

Hi @Vij2019, sorry I missed your post on December 31.

The beauty of executive programs is that you can actually ask the admissions team how they feel about the score and they’ll actually tell you if they want you to retake which would never happen in the full-time program but then the executive program, they’ll spend an hour just chatting with you... maybe not MSX but other executive programs that are more traditional will absolutely give their time to make sure you have the most efficient path to admissions.

PS. My feedback would be is that the score is a tiny bit short of the magic 155 number but again just check with the admissions and see what would you hear back.

Hi all! Came across this thread and saw a lot of really useful information (been watching GMAT Ninja's videos currently and it's a great refresher).

I wanted to see if anyone had recommendations on practice tests that are on par/ very similar in difficulty compared to the real EA exam?

I purchased the official practice tests but fear I may need more than 4 as my first test results were not spectacular.

I don’t think there are really any other practice test unfortunately. We have put together some practice test but we have not quite perfected them yet so I wouldn’t say they are great by any means. The questions are solid but the experience still has some gmat remnants.... But we are working on improving them quite a bit within the next 2 to 4 weeks. I would suggest you wait a few weeks and then you can take one of our free tests. Unlike the official ones, our tests have more in line with the actual test user experience or perhaps I should say they will :-)

Hi all, I recently took the EA exam and scored 160 (IR-18, VR-11, QR-11). As of now, many of the top EMBA programs are in their 3rd or final round (Kellogg, Booth, Haas etc.) and some have already closed (Wharton, LBS/Columbia). Could you please advise:
1) Is the EA score competitive for top programs?
2) Should I apply in the final rounds or wait and apply in the first rounds of the next year?

Thanks in advance!

Hello RSCGMAT, 160 is highly competitive for EMBA ( atleast for Booth and HAAS ). MIT and kellogg don’t really require EA scores. If these are your choice of schools, it is worth applying in final rounds.

Hi rscgmat and everyone,

I’m planning to take the (EA) in two weeks after attempting GMAT three times but not quite reaching my target score. I still have two GMAT practice tests left but am wondering if they would be useful for EA prep.
Would you recommend buying the EA official practice tests, or will the GMAT Club practice tests provide a similar experience? I want to make sure I’m practicing in the most effective and cost-efficient way before my test.

Thanks for your advice!

Hi meeh,

I get studying in a cost-efficient way, but practice tests are an exception, and most people should get the official practice tests. Since you're taking the test in a couple of weeks, maybe get a pack of 2 official practice tests?

Hi Meeh,

EA is comparatively a bit easier than GMAT. If your scores in previous 3 GMAT attempts are above 600 you may find EA easier and do well on it. The GMAT practice tests definitely helps, as the quality of the questions are better in comparison to other practice tests. Another point, if you are already doing well in the IR section the overall score may be better, as in EA the difficulty of the questions presented for other sections will be dependent on how you perform in the IR section.
I will suggest that you evaluate the results received on the GMAT tests and see where you can improve on the sections in the order IR>VR>QR. Take one of the two remaining GMAT practice tests, if you score better than earlier, it should be okay to take the EA as planned or else you will have to take more time to improve on the topics where you face difficulties and then attempt the EA.

Remember that there is a limit of 4 attempts for EA (2 at the center + 2 at home) and some programs specifically want the one taken at the center.

Hope this helps.

All the best for your exam!!!

Looking to take the EA after having not hit my target GMAT score over the past 9+ months. Are the practice exams in the GMATClub bundle for the EA the official practice tests on mba.com? Also are the practice "quizzes" and example problems similar to the question bank that is available for the GMAT?

For sure, I recommend using the official EA practice exams leading to your exam. For some additional advice regarding your preparation, here is a great article you can check out:
