Thanks for the encouraging words:)

I had my interview on 1/31 and had submitted my application beforehand.
As far as the notification is concerned there are still no updates on the website, I just got an email today from Lisa Taylor.

Good Luck! I wish we both make it:)

Deep-

I wouldn't be too concerned over being placed on the waitlist. At some other schools, yes, at Emory, not particularly. That's not a dig at Emory, but I would sit tight until mid-April if they are your top choice. Follow through with their suggestion to provide them with new material. Make sure you reiterate that Goizueta is your top choice, etc. They're very yield conscious this cycle, but spots will open up...

Thanks OZmba and SKic :)
I am definitely planning on sending them an extra recommendation to support my application. I've been in touch with some current students as well; I guess talking with them would also help.

My OPUS account just got updated.
So when you login in click on the "Admissions" link. On the Admissions screen, there is a link to "View your decision letter"

I have a question for anyone who has been wait listed at Emory. I am planning on submitting an additional recommendation - how would it work? Does Emory give online access to the additional recommender or do I have to submit a hard copy?

Thanks!

Hi guys,
Sorry I didn't visit forum for a while. Thanks for keeping this thread alive.
I'm doing GMSC right now(I wrote in my application as a reason to choose Emory, but had no idea about it. Now I already know. It's fantastic. I'm doing a marketing strategy consulting project for a wonderful company, with real issue, real $$$. Have been learning a lot of things. They may offer us internship as well).

For those who got admits: congratulation. I'm really looking forward to seeing you here !!! Do try to make it to welcome weekend. We'll showcase you the school and the community. For international students, I'm thinking of broadcasting some parts of the WW to you (Not sure yet. btw, I'm in the international students committee for the WW)).

For those who got waitlisted: dont be discouraged. This year has been even more competitive with >200 apps up. Several things I would recommend:
1/ take GMAT again. I know it's painful, but it really worths. Let the admission office know that you're planning for it as well. One of our core value is courage, as you may know.
2/ Another recommendation alone will not help much, IMHO. Do try, but show some other commitments along with it.
If I can be any assistance, do let me know. I'm more than happy to help out.

Nice to see you here!

How was the over all experience so far - any disappointments? What are the challenges international students are facing ? Any insight would be great

cheers

Any of the Emory admits going to make it for Welcome Weekend at the end of March? I will definitely be there, and I'm really looking forward to it.

For those who are invited to Scholars Weekend:

Is it true that if you do not partake in the weekend's activities that Emory has the right to rescind your scholarship designation?

Hi SkiC,

How did you find out you were invited to the Scholars Weekend? Was it in your admissions binder? Do you know what the qualifications are?

I'm not sure of the exact criteria, but I would imagine you have to have been awarded a certain level of scholarship. I received an email notifying me about a week ago.

To answer my own question, you are only at risk of losing the scholars designation in name only, not the monetary reward...

Yeah, I just wasn't sure what that level was. I was awarded a full tuition scholarship but it was unnamed (and I never received notification of the Scholars Weekend activities) so I wasn't sure if the unnamed part was relevant. Are you going to the Welcome Weekend events?
