My understanding is that Cornell and Ross require second interviews. The interviews are invitation only. As far as rankings, yes the schools do see them. When I visited a few of the schools (Ross, Tepper) they stated that the rankings dont play a part in admission but they play a part when awarding the fellowship. Ross clearly said if you ranked them towards the bottom it is unlikely you will get a fellowship from them.

I don't know if the school can see where you applied to, where did you get that info from?

If that's the case I am screwed, i left a couple schools I applied to out of my interview response for "what schools did you apply to?"

great.

I don't remember exactly where I got that info from, probably just like everyone else here, I have read tons of old forum posts and chat transcripts. I must have picked it up somewhere, but I could be wrong. I think another point to clarify (again, this could be just a rumor) is that although the other schools can see how you ranked them, they do not know if you have been accepted/rejected by the other schools until they meet to discuss the fellowships.

Do they see the list once you are admitted?

They see the list once they receive your application. The previous poster is correct - they dont know where you have been admitted/rejected until they all meet to decide who gets which fellowship.

Super weak. Well that's terrible news for me.

I left out two of the schools I applied to via Consortium.

I really hope they don't care/compare my answer to my application

yo. i seriously wouldn't worry about that. so you left out some schools in some question somewhere. i don't even remember anything like that on the application. i doubt that's even close to a dealbreaker. i bet its fine.

to clarify - schools DO NOT see you ranking until it comes down to evaluating you for a fellowship. they DO NOT know your ranking before or while reading your application, they ONLY see that ranking after they have made your decision

I've heard otherwise. From what I gather, the schools do see the rankings that you give each school.

can't believe i'm only finding you guys now. it sounds like most of you are like me, anxiously waiting and checking for updates. only 3.5 weeks left. i don't know if i should be excited or scared :)

i applied r2 to stern, yale som, tuck, kelley, and mccombs. i've received generic emails from nyu, yale, and mccombs, request for interview from tuck, and nada from kelley (very strange!). i received an email from mccombs today noting that my status was updated but was then told that i wouldn't be able to access my online account b/c i'm a consortium applicant.

have any r2'ers heard anything from kelley or mccombs?

Maybe things have changed, but if you read the Consortium Accepted.com chat from last year:

Kobe (Jan 14, 2009 7:37:37 PM)
Jackie: Will all the schools know how you ranked them in your Consortium application? Will the rankings have an effect on which schools you get accepted to?

JackieOldenCONSORTIUM (Jan 14, 2009 7:37:58 PM)
Kobe -- yes the schools will see the rankings.
