I feel bad about reading and not contributing. I don't want to release too many details about my app because it will be blindingly obvious who I am if any adcoms read this. Nevertheless, add me to the list of round 2 consortium applicants to stern, ross, yale.
finally heard some movement from YSOM, but the email just re-stated that final decisions will be reached by the end of Feb. I'm really excited about this app, and I'm going to try to set up a visit sometime next week. I looked on their website, and it seemed that most of the visits are pretty structured, with a class visit in the morning, followed by a campus tour. I was hoping to come a little later, since I live about 1.5 - 2 hrs away (depending on traffic). I'm gonna try to email them to see if I can work anything out.
ROLL CALL PAGE UPDATED. if you don't see yourself on the first page of this thread, or if you want to update your status for the Consortium 2010, please post back on this thread
what was everyone's impressions of the consortium schools when you visited? Did you go during diversity weekend?
I've visited a lot of schools. I find it interesting to go for the diversity weekend and then stop by again on a regular day... When the "blinders" are off, things are very different...
I didn't go during diversity weekend, but I asked students about how their school managed this "issue." I tried to ask students to whom diversity in ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation would be important.
I felt I did get a better sense of what to expect in the program, but I also think you're at an advantage to participate in div w/ends since you have an opportunity to stand out from the thousands of "regular" visitors.
anyone apply to USC through the consortium RD1? I applied RD1 to NYU, Tepper, Emory and USC and everyone has notified me that they have my application except for USC....
USC might have compiled all of its applications from R1 and R2 together, like YSOM did. I only just got a notification from YSOM this week, even though I applied in November.
However, I wouldn't leave it to chance. You should definitely call up USC tomorrow and ask about your app status. Specifically mention that you are a Consortium applicant, as the schools usually have a separate department or person handle the Consortium apps.
