To add on what Nink said. I think Stanford GSB also has great tech opportunities. Downside to Stanford GSB and Haas is that they have the lowest acceptance rate of all the top MBA programs.

I'm considering Yale as well for the management program. However, I wouldn't mind as an added bonus a good entrepreneurship program. Not that Yale doesn't have one, but you tend to hear more about Haas, Stanford, and HBS in the conversation.

Any thoughts? I think someone mentioned MIT.

I'm definitely not applying to HBS as I wouldn't want to go to school there and I don't think I would be thrilled about Haas.

Let me tell you about one of many cool resources available to entrepreneur-aspirants at YSOM.

YALE ENTREPRENEURIAL INSTITUTE

https://yalestation.yale.edu/yei/

The Yale Entrepreneurial Institute (YEI) was formed to help undergraduate and graduate Yale students start scalable new ventures. While starting as a stand-alone 10-week summer program in 2007, YEI has since expanded into a year-round University department acting as a portal for entrepreneurship on campus and offering programs and events year round that serve the entrepreneurial interest of students and the New Haven community.
What makes YEI different?

Unique among our peer institutions, YEI is an innovative program that puts student ventures first. As a complement to more traditional academic programs which provide a conceptual understanding and related case studies of new venture formation, YEI exists to help students execute on their actual business plans. It bands together entrepreneurial students, select faculty and administrators with new venture experience, alumni from both industry and venture capital, and local established entrepreneurs.

* YEI has supported the formation and growth of over 35 student-founded ventures in the last two years
* Of those companies, 15 have raised a total of over $17 million of outside investment capital.

Current Student Ventures

YEI staff work with students throughout the year to provide them with feedback and assistance to help get their venture off the ground. Below is a list of student ventures currently working with YEI:

Yes, I looked into YEI. That's what makes this school my top choice. A little bit of everything.

Yale hosted a virtual reception yesterday and it was mentioned that only 50% of the invites have gone out.

YSOM Internship Experience

Read about what YSOM internship experience was like from this past Summer

https://www.mba.yale.edu/news_events/CMS ... 7016.shtml

At the end of each school year, first-year SOM students depart New Haven for their summer internships. They head off to positions at organizations in all three sectors and in industries as varied as energy, education, finance, healthcare, and consulting. The summer internship is an important part of the MBA experience — a step toward fashioning a long-term career and the first chance for students to test how much they have learned at SOM.

This past summer, SOM students interned at top companies on Wall Street, including Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, and Paulson & Co.; consumer packaged goods giants, such as PepsiCo and Kraft; major consulting firms, such as the Boston Consulting Group, Booz Allen Hamilton, and McKinsey & Company; plus a wind farm manufacturer, Exxon Mobil, the Federal Reserve, Google, the Common Fund, the Museum of Modern Art, and the China Investment Corporation.

There are marketing jobs at Fortune 500 companies (P&G, AMEX, MSFT etc) . But marketing isn't YSOM forte. There are far better schools that you can choose if you want to do marketing.

Wow! I just read their newsletter and it seems like they are going to publish their decisions on the deadlines, which really sucks since I had my interview on the 22nd of October. One of the reasons I applied ultra early to Yale was so that I could hear their decision well before R2 deadlines so I could avoid having to apply to R2 schools but, I guess that is not possible now.

I wonder how Yale gauge these things. It could very well be the case that the rest of the applicants are extremely qualified and therefore all get invited, thus throwing off the numbers. I think they mean that they've reviewed more than half of the applicants.
