I'm curious how many people sent a thank-you note to the interviewer and did not get a reply. I'm trying not to read too much into it, but can't help wondering....

I interviewed with a student at Yale and an adcom member at Tuck and didn't receive a reply to my thank you letters (I don't think they're supposed to reply to you but I could be wrong). I interviewed with an alum at Chicago and he replied to my thank you e-mail (he told me during the interview though that once he submitted the assessment - right after our meeting - he would play no further role in the process). I wouldn't read anything into it - I don't think they're supposed to give you any indication one way or the other so the reply is probably not a big deal.

Last year, R1 decision date was in like mid January. Adcom was discussing finalizing sending out interview invite decisions up until the decision date. YSOM application review process is intensive and time consuming. So don't give up until it's over.

Didn't get a single reply back from my Thank You emails last year. It doesn't mean anything. They simply receive too many emails like that and there are more urgent emails for them to get to, than reply back to every single one of them.

Also, if an adcom member or alum interview starts to reply back to your emails, people tend to keep sending him or her emails with tons of questions. It's better to just exercise fifth amendment on their part. :wink:

Do you guys know the precentage of applicats SOM interviews and later accepts. Is it right to assume that since the interviewer is usually a second year student he will write his feedback which will get re-reviewed with my app. I am assuming seond years do not sit in on the final admissions deliberations? or do they?

YSOM acceptance rate is usually around 14% of total applicants for the year. Admissions Committee reviews and interviews applicants and yes, 2nd year students are heavily involved in interviewing the applicants. Generally for most bschools, once the interview is done, the interviewer submits a report.

I'm in for R1 as well, received interview invite (10/19/09). I ended up interviewing with Bruce, was expecting a second year student. I am just awaiting a decision at this point, fingers crossed.

I got called last year. But apparently the R1 process has changed this year (earlier notification date, rumor of no admittance before notification date etc). So I can't tell you exactly how they will do it. But they might still call applicants since YSOM applicant pool size is relatively small.

Exactly a week to go. I have given up hope for an interview invite, and will not be checking my inbox and spam folder every 30 minutes like a maniac anymore.
A little disappointed, and fairly frustrated.

Is anyone else (apart from me) still hanging onto the last few strands of hope?

Also, I need a clarification. Is it possible that YaleSOM waitlists an international candidate without interviewing?
